Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds officially loves Spider-Man's Tom Holland, according to a new photo circulating on Instagram. After breaking out in Two Guys, A Girl And A Pizza Place and Van Wilder, the Canadian actor went on to feature in a number of starring roles and scene-stealing cameos. While some efforts, such as Green Lantern, proved decidedly underwhelming, his popularity has only continued to soar among fans. Despite Disney recently acquiring Fox and all its properties, Reynolds' Deadpool is the only superhero not being rebooted.

Holland, meanwhile, first came to prominence on the stage and a supporting role in The Impossible alongside Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts. It was being cast as Peter Parker (aka Spider-Man) in the MCU, however, that catapulted him to true acclaim and popularity. The fate of the Web-Slinger is currently up in the air, following a breakdown in talks between Disney and Sony, who own the movie rights. The debate has raged over the last week regarding whether Disney or Sony was in the wrong and where Spider-Man heroics should take place - with some even constructing a website dedicated to whether the character has returned to the MCU yet. Whatever happens, though, Holland is still signed on for two more outings, with Spider-Man: Far From Home's writers also returning.

Both actors have amassed hugely popular social media presences over the years, often engaging with fans and promoting upcoming films in truly unique ways. Reynolds, especially, has seemingly cornered the market regarding online self-promotion. This was not only evidenced by his work behind the scenes on Deadpool but also his viral videos for Detective Pikachu. An Instagram user by the name of Hystu01, however, opted to combine the star-power of both actors into a hilarious image of Reynolds proclaiming his love for Holland. Check out the original image below:

Reynolds quickly caught wind of the new meme. In his own inimitable style, he quickly added it to an Instagram story, proclaiming it "obviously photoshop". He added, however, that it being a doctored image doesn't mean that the love isn't real. Holland concurred in an Instagram story of his own, posting that "photoshop never lies". Each of the actor's posts can be seen below:

Anyone who's watched Avengers: Endgame will understand the relevance of loving someone 3000. Seeing it delivered from Reynolds to Holland, though, will surely provoke a particularly singular thrill. "SpideyPool" is a popular ship among comic book fans, one that many have been eager to see realized on the big screen. With Disney and Sony yet to come to a mutually-agreeable compromise, however, even Reynolds jokily announced that it may not happen. Outside of their superhero commitments, both Reynolds and Holland have a number of projects in the pipeline.

The former has both Netflix's 6 Underground and video-game-inspired Free Guy currently in post-production. Holland, meanwhile, recently filmed reshoots on Chaos Walking, and has lent his voice to a number of animated projects, including Pixar's Onward. There's every chance, following those, that the actors will ultimately work together. Still, it'll no doubt be the unorthodox superhero partnership that fans are truly eager for. Whatever happens, though, the Spider-Man and Deadpool bromance will at least occur in real-life if not on the big screen.
