Matt Keith says:

Despite the disconnection of Catwoman from any Batman franchise, and despite the universal hate toward Catwoman, it is in fact a DC character and film.

Phil G says:

The comedy didn’t hurt Iron Man. It won’t Green Lantern either.

And Hal does have a sense of humor… it’s just a bit more subtle.

Phil G says:

What it boils down to is whether the actor can make you believe he truly has the capacity to “overcome all his fears” and Ryan Reynolds is fine for that.

Andy S says:

I don’t mind watching Catwoman. It’s always nice to see Halle Berry in a skintight leather outfit. :D

greenknight333 says:

Ok folks..To chant or not to chant..should the chant be in the movie or something he is saying in the end credits as it fades away from a shot of GL powering up his ring?

greenknight333 says:

Hal has a great sense of humor but it is subtle and intelligent..I love reading the current reimagining of GL by Geoff Johns..Very high quality IMO. Art work is very well done too…GL and the GL Corps have played an integral part in DC’s Universe in the last 5 years .. Hal, John Stewart, Guy Gardiner and Kyle have a great dynamic in the books and act like four best friends who know each other better(good and bad) than anyone else and would go to the wall for each other..

Rob Keyes says:

Reynolds is the man, the more the merrier.

Although on DC/WB’s part – don’t they know he’s getting his own Marvel flick?

Daniel F says:

The Critic with that logic any time a terrible casting choice is made instead of expressing how you think it’s bad we can just say well It could of been Actor X..> See don’t you feel better now?

I highly doubt JT was ever a serious option.

Matt Keith says:

” It’s always nice to see Halle Berry in a skintight leather outfit.”

Yeah…that was a nice sight, but even that couldn’t distract me from the horrible dialoge and weak plot.

Keith Thomas says:

The chant MUST be in there. Also, some humor is necessary, I never said it was. What I said was, the humor in the script IS BAD. REALLY, REALLY BAD. For that matter, so’s the entire first draft. Guggenheim hasn’t written anything good yet. Not one thing. And, he wrote X-Men Origins: Wolverine, so he could just be the new Zak Penn. That’s scary.

Keith Thomas says:

meant to type “I never said it wasN’T.” Typo.

JD5DAD says:

I like ryan but I wanted Nathan Fillion as Hal

stuntmanJ says:

Reynolds was never shy about how he loves what was going on for the Deadpool film, and how much of a fan is. Looks like we’ll have to listen to more of the same “I’m a huge fan,” crap. Just like Shia Lebouf is a fan of everything he’s attatched to.

tasouli says:

This might work, neither excited nor disapointed. i dont really care for the character of Green Lantern but if tehy are getting the guy that directed Casino Royale to do teh movie it should be a decent enough of a movie. I think that Reynolds will bring too much humor to teh character but I think on a movie like this they need a big well known hollywood actor to play the lead role, as it proved to work well with Iron Man. Good for Reynolds though, he is moving up the hollwood actor…still see him as Van Wilder though

Cantizzle says:

let’s bash people for being fans of what they are doing. let’s just all hope for people who don’t know the character’s they are playing, or don’t care about the character they are playing. should make for some great movies.

Confused Marvel fan says:

So does this mean he isnt gonna play deadpool??????

Manowar says:

Him playing green lantern would actually increase his audience for when he plays Deadpool.

chrisj says:

Id have to say Ryan Reynolds makes a great choice to play Hal Jordan outta all the other choices they had. Bradley Cooper would be my 2nd. As for the rest, Hell NO. Finally a DC comic movie with one of the greatest heroes other than Batman and Superman to hit the silver screen. Even though id think Reynolds would be a perfect Wally West/Flash, im sure he’ll be great as Green Lantern.
