salvation Rumors Spoil The End Of Terminator Salvation

[NOTE: This article is 100% SPOILER-FREE]

Over the weekend, Moviehole reported on a series of Internet-leaked rumors that caused serious upset for the production of Terminator Salvation. The rumors in question had to do with the film’s surprise ending, which apparently had to be completely redone thanks to pesky online snitches and their never-ending quest for SPOILERS.

We here at Screen Rant live by a strict SPOILER-FREE code of honor, so I’ll try and let you know what’s been going on without spilling a single bean.

Having taken a look at the original ending to Salvation, I can tell you that it was indeed a DOOZIE of a surprise, with a bit of “WTF?” thrown in for good measure. The original ending would’ve also shaken up a lot of things behind the scenes of the franchise, likely splitting fans straight down the middle of the love/hate ratio.

But that’s all in the past now… according to Seth Rogen.

Yes, you read that correctly: inexplicably funny-guy Seth Rogen is one of the super-secret-sources shedding light on the revamped ending to Terminator Salvation. Apparently Rogen has a friend over at Warner Bros. who further confirmed that the $uits were mad as hell about the original ending being ruined, and immediately began working on a new ending to the film.

Now, the exact timing of all this is unclear, however it must have gone down a few months back, because Moviehole‘s own source over at Warner Bros. let it be known that he had seen a more recent cut of Salvation and that the new ending is “A complete [180] from the original film. Works better. Probably not as hard to swallow. Real good though.”

So far, rumors have yet to ruin the new ending of the film. So far.

If you want to ruin how Terminator Salvation would’ve ended for yourself, you can read Moviehole‘s full  post on it (but there be SPOILERS!). Whether you choose to read the post or not, let us know what you think about the rumor mill screwing up YET ANOTHER big movie surprise.

Terminator Salvation hits theaters on May 22, 2009.

  1. So basically, the rumors and spoilers might have actually HELPED the movie? Well, maybe it was all for the better then. Hopefully those idiots don’t spoil the new ending. Anyway, I’ll keep from reading anything that might have the ending to this movie. Only one and a half months left…

  2. i really dont mind spoilers, so when they are given i dont make a big fuss over them

  3. I’m making my predication right now:

They changed NOTHING. They are still going with the original ending. But they’re telling us they’ve changed it, so all of us on the internent will still be surprised when we see it, since we’ll go in expecting something else.

But if not… then this new ending better deliver, cause I actually liked what they were going to do.

  4. i just hope they dont kill john conner off in the movie i think that would be a terrible idea!

  5. I heard about the rumors of John dying, but never really read them, just seen the topic headers. So I don’t know if this is the twist they were originally going to do, but if so, I’m glad they are going to change it because it would have been pretty dumb I think… And yes, it would have split everyone down the middle. I’m fine with them changing a few things here and there to modernize the whole future war thing, but to change it THAT much from the original T1 and T2 story, eh, not too keen on that…

  6. I think the movie will end when connors send the arnold terminator to the second movie :P

  7. Well..it’s good for the terminator fans…When they release the DVD/Bluray edition of the movie..We would have 2 different endings to the same ‘most loved action’ movie…plus some deleted scenes…
And We dont want to see John Connor die…Whole series will evaporate in one blow…All the movies were about killing the John Connor & he manages to save himself(exception in T1) & in the upcoming movie where he’s is in completely in command with an resistance army (hopefully) & he gets killed..That’s not so clever, i guess…for the next 2 parts..A Machine leading human resistance against machines..Better keep it for future installments when things get worse for the humans..

  8. I despise people who try and ruin movies. I’m glad Screen Rant is spoiler free, another reason to stick around. I really want Terminator: Salvation to be a hit, and judging by what I have seen, it’s gonna be epic.

  9. I dont think spoilers should affect the planned storyline of any film. LOTR wasn’t spoiled by the books, Harry Potter wasnt spoiled by the books. Stick with the story – if its good !

  10. Okay, I can’t find the spoiled ending to this so somebody who is not afraid of spoilers please tell me what happens

  11. I am not going to watch the spoilers. McG, keep doing what you are doing, I admire you for your determination to overcome this challenge. Thank you Screenrant for not giving any spoilers!
