Maybe it was seeing a 60+ year old Harrison Ford still kicking ass and taking names in Indiana Jones & the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Or more likely, it was said film’s $750 million box-office receipts. Regardless, if Dread Central is to be believed, Ghostbusters 3 may finally become a reality.
As per their sources, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson have all agreed to reprise their roles in a third live-action installment – just under 20 years after Ghostbusters 2 graced the silver screen.

But it doesn’t stop there, ladies and germs. Here’s the real juicy info:
“Now here’s the really interesting part; though not much is known about the plot, apparently the ‘Busters will be handing over their proton packs to Seth Rogan and the crew from 40 Year Old Virgin!”
This does go along with what Aykroyd’s been yapping about for years now. According to him back in the mid 90s, they had lined up Chris Rock, Ben Stiller and Chris Farley to play the “next generation” for Ghostbusters III: Hellbent.
That said, I don’t buy a word of any of this. Sure, I’d love to be wrong. But… this sounds like an attempt to get some attention on the forthcoming Ghostbusters video game – which incidentially all 4 actors did voice-work on.

Seth Rogen is comedy … GOOD comedy, the kind thats real and makes you love he character to feel the comedy. None of this forced crap thats completely unoriginal and random, but the same crap every time from Will Ferell and company.
the Whole Judd Apatow-and-crew is the next best thing in comedy and rightfully so.
I think it would be hilarious if they set up a new cast for the next generation. Paul Rudd and Seth Rogan…that’s gold. Although if they added Ben Stiller to that mix, even now with him being much older then them, it would still be awesome

I, for one, don’t think it’s a Ghostbusters movie without Louis Tully (aka Rick Moranis)…you HAVE to have him in order for it to be complete.
I read an article recently that said the GB video game was *almost* a movie in and of itself…so I’m curious as to how an actual movie will fare.

As far as another ghostbusters, it could be a lot of fun. Again agreeing with the actual crew. Or a new crew who needs the help of a retired crew of Murray, Akroyd and the boys.
This is a complete and false rumor. There is a video game coming out this fall, and EVERY cast member has said numerous times that the game is the closest thing to a Ghostbusters 3 that we’ll ever see. Mark the words of the Mantis, this is bull.

Of all the silly stories floating around the net this week this was by far the stupidest. Considering Judd Apatow can write his own ticket in Hollywood these days the last thing he, Seth Rogan and the gang would want to do is hijack one of the most popular movies of the 80’s. I didn’t believe for a second there was a bit of truth to this when it was reported on another blog a few days ago! It will never happen!

no way! if they’ll do this then whats the point of not filming it 10 yrs ago? seth rogan?! c’mon! hes a great actor, loved his movies but seriously for a buster movie? first after 20 yrs? no way! only the original cast can work and maybe some sidekicks who will not steal the show.
