Hey guys! Check out this new interview FEARnet did with Robert Rodriguez, Nimrod Antal and Adrien Brody about the new Predators movie. They seem really excited about it and have some interesting insights.
Here’s a link to it: http://www.fearnet.com/videos/b19514_robert_rodriguezs_predators.html
What do you think?

Adrien Brody and Topher Grace are slatted to be the lead roles. Nobody would confuse these guys with 'The Body' or 'The Govenator.' I will save my judgement until I see it, but I am a little perplexed by these choices. Also read that Nimrod Antal is directing, Rodriguez is only producing.

yea i first heard the news of the new predator film on that talk soup show on E entertainment network.talk soup chat stew whatever its called, the host joe mchale said it best.try and find the clip. joe has an ability to see things for the way they really are.i really agree with taking a incredible film from the 80s and remaking it so people will take interest in purchasing tickets.and i hope the producers make a billions off this remake because they obviously are working hard on creating something original.i cant wait to see this when it comes on the spike network.it will be so fantastic to see the greatest movie monster ever created processed again for our teenage audience once more.when all we want is to experience what we had watching arnold and glover duke it out.i hope the predators in this new movie are smitten for human girls!! and i hope again that the CIA nuke a small town in the forrest right when the boyfriend girlfriend fly away in their helicopter.teen date movies are always the best films ever invented.its too bad the movie makers dont realize that teens fill up probably 85% of the seats in the theatre.if they did realize we would be blessed with more teen movies.

Sin city was a great movie but I believe that was more because of Frank Miller than Robert Rodriguez. again so for me he only has one movie under his belt...Grindhouse was produced by Quentin Tarantino...so essentially aside from Desperado (which is in a completely different Genre) he only has one movie to his name...SIgh. Pray for me fellow FanBoys lol.

Well Im a little mad because Im a huge alien and Predator movie/ comics fan and I cannot support Robert Rodriguez because nothing he has done has impressed me. And as horrible as the alien vs. predator movies were I was getting used to the idea that we were going to find out the link between weyland/yutani and get to the bottom of how these two alien civilizations co-existed in the same universe. Ok Im sorry ya'll Im just venting. But I have to give any movie thats going backwards instead of forwards, of this caliber a thumbs down.

SIN I wouldn't personally call a VERY short clip of the Predator homeworld, and NO scene of the Alien homeworld back story.

Yeah we saw them stand ontop of a pyramid and blow it up as they were overwhelmed and we learnt they used to hunt Aliens on earth as a right of passage.

But that was like a 5 minute flashback in an otherwise bad film!

We need a real film, dedicated to showing their homeworlds (BOTH of them) and giving us a real feeling for what motivates them as hunters, why and how they discovered the aliens and why they chose earth as a hunting ground.

Is this actually a remake of Predator or some kind of prequel? I dont quite understand it.

I see no reason for a remake, as the original did a fine job of establishing what they are. I could understand a pre-quel where we see the homeworld of both aliens and get some back story to why they breed and hunt them and why they use earth.

But NOT a complete remake!!!

First, id like to say i respect Robert Rodriguez as a director. But as to producing a reboot to another great franchise i grown up with, i rather have him make a sequel.
I loved the first Predator, not just because of a great cast that included Arnold but that the predator was such bad ass. R.I.P Kevin Peter Hall who played the Predator in the first two films. Plus i loved how Stan Winston made the predator look. Unlike the films that followed, the first predator was best ugly, well you know. i rather see a sequel to see what other weapons Predators have to hunt with.

Robert is a good director but after the destruction of avp which sucked, i think they should make something new out of it just like they did with batman but not Rob zombie's halloween which i think kinda killed it but not a bad film. But hollywood today is all about bad remakes, always the horrible sequels or prequels, and of course the reboots. MAKE SOMETHING NEW AND ORIGINAL ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For some reason i just have a problem with the terms, reboot, remake, reimagining. I think they should start advertising it as a sequal, but a different vision then previous films. That will please mega predator fans like myself. I am pleased with this news just as long as they don't change predator law or mess with the Preds' look i think it would be safe to start calling "Predators" another sequel to the Arnie classic.

This is amazing news! I read about rodriguez's interest in making a predator film ages ago, but thought it would never happen, now i'm so glad it will. Anyone who is critical of him needs to watch the classic 'el mariachi' with the directors commentary and learn how he made that film. Its literally phenomenal how he made such a good film on a ridiculously low budget.
