Hi Rob.

We are mulling over the fact that the Sheriff might not make an appearance at all much to the shegrin of many MM fans! In fact, we are hoping that the character of the Sheriff won’t be written out altogether, ho hum.

Well, at least Ridley gave MM another prize as he is cast as one of the lead characters in another production from Ridley and his brother, (not directing however) the Ken Follett novel “The Pillars of The Earth” which will be a series! Se la vie to Robin Hood and Hello Pillars but I’m still hoping my pleas to Mr. Grazer will not return void. Wish me luck!

I agree and I wouldn’t have minded a title like Nottingham except that now, the Sheriff is apparently a minor character whereas it was originally planned with him being the lead and Hood would have been secondary.

Since when did the New York Post movie gossipers start telling the truth ?
What Screenrant didn’t go on to recount in the Alan Jones interview was Crowe’s statement that he had the grand privilege of being able to hold Titian’s (Scott’s) paints while Titian is working on the canvas.
Crowe and Scott have both said before they squabble – it doesn’t mean anything cataclysmic.

I would have liked a different take on the story as well, maybe not the Nottingham twist but something different, this seems like maybe the same-ol-same but darker and more violent. I have to admit I love the Prince of Thieves and really see no reason to remake it if its basically the same thing but rated R.

Hi Rob.

Personally, I like the word Nottingham in the title, it gives this version of Robin Hood something more, for what it’s worth. Maybe they could settle on something like ‘Robin Hood: Nottingham’s Revenge’ or something like that. I see the past several Hood movies also settled on an annotated title. Robin Hood alone sounds a bit bland to me, but if the movie is worth it, then I guess it will suffice.

IF the rumour from the NY Post today is true, however, I believe there are some boys that need to start acting like men and the title is the least of their worries at the moment…;-)

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again, meh, seen one Robin Hood, seen em all, the BBC TV series was just the same plot over 39 episodes.

I would of really liked to see a new take on the story, something original, as well.

At Least Crowe is no longer playing Hood and the Sheriff… could you imagine how ridiculous that would have been?

I prefered the idea of Nottingham as a well meaning individual and Robin Hood as a morally shady hero. But it’s a Ridley Scott epic, the scale will be grand, the battles will be top notch and it will be visual sex for the retinas.

Sounds like Ridley Scott sold out.He should not have taken the “safe” route by doing your traditional Robin Hood story.It’s been done to death and it would’ve been at least very interesting to see a new take on it.

Too bad for all of us.
