Over the Easter Weekend a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood made its way online over at NCM. But it’s Monday and it’s time to get back to the movie news game, so we have the new featurette here for you to check out.
This particular version of Robin Hood stars the Oscar-winner Russell Crowe as the titular bow and arrow-wielding hero who steals from the rich and gives to the poor. Here’s the synopsis:
A bowman in the army of Richard Coeur de Lion, virtuous rogue Robin Hood rises from an unlikely background to become a hero to the impoverished people of Nottingham and lover to the beautiful Lady Marian.
Now here’s the new behind-the-scenes featurette, which may not show the actual process of shooting a scene (you can check out an example of that HERE) but does give us quite a bit of interesting insight into the purpose behind this particular re-telling of the English folktale. Take a look below:
Talk about selling your movie, Mr. Crowe…
Robin Hood marks Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe’s fifth collaboration. It’s been a solid pairing for the most part, with A Good Year being the only hiccup that I know of. Robin Hood appears to be Crowe and Scott in good form, with Crowe having a fantastic supporting cast to work with (it may not seem like it, but those smaller roles are often just as pivotal in making the movie good).
Robin Hood co-stars Cate Blanchett, Mark Strong, Kevin Durand (Lost), Danny Huston and Max von Sydow. It’s directed by Ridley Scott and was written by Brian Helgeland (Green Zone, Salt). The movie opens in theaters on May 14th, 2010.
