This is fantastic news! I had heard they dropped Machete, but its great to see they're still going through with it. Planet Terror is RR's best flick, IMO, and I definitely want to see another film done in the same B-movie style.

Yeah, this Machete is also loveable Uncle Machete who makes all the gadgets in the "Spy Kids" flicks, and that's frickin' hilarious!

i hope rodriguez is directing sin city 2 and not frank miller like once rumored

If you recall from Spy Kids, Machete was a real bad-ass. He just softened for the kids. :-)

Well, I mean I knew Rodriguez was responsible. It just strikes me as odd that this, most likely, R-Rated movie may be a spin-off from a PG-rated counterpart.
  • @Alex

I had forgotten that! I'll bet they ARE connected. Rodriguez did both. :-)

Also, is Machete at all related to the Spy Kids franchise? Might seem silly, but remember, Danny Trejo's nickname in those movies was Machete.

I'm so amped that RR is doing a Machete flick!!!!!!!!!! I loved the trailer , it was a lot of fun .
As for Machete himself , Danny Trejo , he always seems one of the coolest characters in whatever movie he's in. This could be very cool. :)

I don't know if he meant it as a slam against Blade Runner. I think he might just be trying to put it into perspective of intensity and speed. Blade Runner's amazing, but it is a tad slow-paced.

It almost seems like the length of time in between the Sin City movies is too vast. I consider myself a movie fanboy, and the possibility of a new one is already making its way into obscurity. Generally speaking, I don't care if I see a sequel. And that's why I worry about the status of that movie. Because if I think it's irrelevant, then I think the common, mainstream viewer is going to write it off as a cheesy sequel to an obscure movie.

Machete. Danny Trejo as the leading man? That's just epic. Haha.
