Since Stargate have
_intergalactic ships_ staying
with Atlantis will make it well,
Star Trek. Just rename
USAirForce to Starfleet and rename
allied races as The Federation.
(Given Trek has died i’m all for it)

So SGU might instead give us something we’ve never seen before.
(Unless we’re counting Dr Who since
the DRADIS can go anywhere and anywhere
in the universe)

SGU can be excellent. Bad. Or both.
Or neither.
Either way i like the effort.

lol, great point Vic seeing how the premise of this show is exactly that.

I want to see who the supporting cast will be. Will they be any returnees from SG1 or Atlantis? Or are they actually going strict with keeping this separate and distant (literally and figuratively)

And that, I believe, is part of the premise of who a studio hires. Actors have their own demographics that will come along for the ride. If they like what they see, that’s more (back) business if the viewers suddenly want to see more of the previous shows and movies.

I’m getting a general, overall feel that everyone is pretty happy with this lead actor. That’s good. Now we see / hope that Brad Wright and Robert Cooper deliver.

The StarGate franchise never clicked with me. It will be interesting to see what Carlyle can bring to it.

Robert Carlyle is one of the best british actors around, and always gives to the role. He does psychos very well, but can play all sorts.

Loved him in Ravenous.

Does make me take this new version more seriously.

Carlyle should definitely add to the show.

As far as more, it is what it is gang.
We’ll have to just enjoy the movies that come down the pipe.

I’m shocked they nabbed this dude for the lead. He’s an incredible actor and for me, he can sell this show on his own.

I’m actually excited to see this now whereas before I didn’t care at all.
