Robert Pattinson Confirms Twilight’s ‘Breaking Dawn’

As if Twilight fans needed another reason to get excited about the hit vampire movie franchise, Robert Pattinson, who is the series heartthrob both off and on-screen, is here to fuel the excitement. At Cannes on Tuesday, Pattinson confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that a fourth movie will happen, based on the fourth book in Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

Pattinson said he’s committed to star in the fourth (and presumably last) installment of the series, but he is unsure as to when studio Summit Entertainment are going to start production on Breaking Dawn. The Studio is currently busy with the second and third Twilight movies, as well as Pattinson’s schedule being jam-packed (playing a vampire sure has opened up a lot of doors for the young star).

I don’t think it’s a surprise that there are plans to make Breaking Dawn – if New Moon and the third Twilight sequel, Eclipse, are both as successful as the first movie was (which I see them being), you can guarantee Breaking Dawn will get made.

For you Pattinson fans out there who want to know as much as you can about what he’s up to, he is getting ready to finish shooting New Moon on Friday in Italy, which is shooting simultaneously with Eclipse. Once New Moon’s shooting wraps up, he then plans to take the weekend off before he heads for a planned 8-week shoot of a movie called Remember Me. As Twilight fans will know, New Moon sees Edward as, “a voice in Bella’s head,” says Pattinson.

He continued with – “You’re playing a figment in Bella’s imagination so I was trying to do it in a 2-D way. I hope it doesn’t translate onscreen as being boring.” After his two month shoot, Pattinson will then head back to Vancouver to finish shooting Eclipse, hopefully before October.

Since they are shooting New Moon and Eclipse at the same time, it’s clear that the studio has every bit of faith in the franchise. I have said it before, but Twilight could have gone either way at the box office – flop or success – and for some reason it just clicked with general movie going audiences, and was a huge hit. My guess is you’ll hear about Breaking Dawn going into production when Eclipse wraps up (maybe even before that), and it will get released in the fall of 2011.

New Moon is scheduled to be released on November 20th in the US, and November 27th in the UK this year. Eclipse is set for a June 30th, 2010 release.

    I was right! My friend didn't believe me that Robert Pattinson would be playing in breaking dawn as well coz she read or heard somewhere that he wouldn't be playing but i said of course he would! she didn't believe me but i was RIGHT!

    i read all the books and i think the movies are good robert is perfect for this rol but people need to keep in mind he is an actor he is playing a role and he is doing a good job but just becouse he is sensitive caring smart in a role dont meen he is like this in person i think robert plays the role of edward really good and i think a lot of woment not only teenagers fell in love with the caractor becouse this is all we women are loking for the unconditional love **

    i have only just got in to twilight i have read all the books and watched both films, as many of you have said i think they should make the last book in to two films there is to much information that you need to know to make it into one film they should do the bit upto where bella gives birth at the end of jacobs part in the book, then the next film should be about bella and her change along with the volturi conflict and i think they should have all the passion between bella and edward in the films as that is the whole part of the story you don't have to have full sex scenes to get the picture if you have red the book you know whats going on!!! and by the way my 13 year old step daughter got me into twilight and im 30 so its not just for the teens its for everyone, and im totally hooked cant wait for eclipse.

    seriousely, most of the fans are in love with edward cullen and not robert pattinson. And if you don't trust me i have planty of evidence for example in an interview robert pattinson said that the fans love edward cullen and not him . And that he has a rough time in finding a date. Plus robert pattinson is not that hot and he kinda has a don't care attitude.

Robert if it is no difficult can you impart experience and tell to me how completely to get used to the role? You have many different roles which aren't similar against each other. Do you pass the role through yourself? Some time you behave as your hero or have your a way? Your answer would help me very much! Thanks in advance!

    I think they need to bring out the movies sooner,
    because i can wait to see them and it is unfair to keep people waiting for such a good story line.

    I think that Robert and Kristen look very nice together..they're my favorite love team. I think the first movie was great..can't wait to see the 2nd one.

    I'm also very much forward to Breaking Dawn...i'm actually curious to know who's gonna play do the role of Renesmee, Edward & Bella's little baby girl..

    Mr. Pattinson is my heart throb. If only I were 18 years younger.
    His acting skills are funny, somewhat inconsistent but great with Kristin Stewart.

    He's a doll, true to his heart (but so was Brad Pitt and now he thinks he a demi-God).
    Hope Mr. Pattinson stays true and DOES not get a friggin' stylist (except for the Oscars).
    PLUS, he was ADORABLE in "How to Be" which reminds of who is really like.

    Twilight fan base is more than tweens/teens. There are a lot of us out there 30+ who loved the books and enjoyed to movies. Allison - right on. Couldn't have said it better myself. What kind of a person looks up subjects they hate? duh. I want to see all the books made into movies, I hope they don't butcher Breaking Dawn too bad. And I would love to see stephanie meyer write more for the saga. :)

    Whats with all the teenager stuff its not only teenagers that enjoy the books and the movie. and i've heard ppl complaining about if it is made into a movie wat are they going to do about the sex scenes, well i say show them like they do with every other show movies rated M can have sex scenes like most movies and tv shows now do that teenagers watch on a daily basis its only a movie, and i for one cant wait to see the rest of the twilight movies.

    Im realy not the best reader and i asked my elder sister to read me new moon it took us ages to finish it and i really dont want to bother her and ask her to read me eclipes to so would somone be able to tell me wat happens in eclipes just like who does bella choes jacob or edward?

    I think the only ones who are taking Twilight too seriously are the ones attacking it. It's a phase just like any other. I have read all the books and am a die hard fan...if you think it's so stupid, then why bother looking up the articles and judging those who actually enjoy it? That's what's pretty pathetic in my opinion. And i'm sorry but what exactly are teenage girls supposed to learn from "great vampire literature" that's going to help them in their everyday lives? And how is that any better than what their learning in Twilight? It's all fiction! From all the twilighters out there....leave us alone! Let us enjoy our vampire love story, and if you don't like it....STOP LOOKING IT UP!!!!

    I don't get why everyone is so frickin' obsessed with twilight. Sure, the books were somewhat entertaining, but the movie was lame. The acting was aweful. Get over the fantasy and move on with your life. You people are way more sad and pathetic than any star wars geek or trekkie will ever be.

    I am hoping that they will make the Breaking Dawn movie as well and can't wait to see how New Moon and Eclipse turn out with different directors! As long as they stick to the books as much as possible for a movie, I think they both will be great movies, but I am really looking forward to Breaking Dawn!! I hope they do not cut too much out of it though, even if it has to be a four hour movie!!
