Taking away the mask from Myers would be like giving Freddy a gun or Leatherface a poison dart gun. You want to change the story, ok fine. You want to change the character, ok that’s fine too, but please don’t insult us by calling it a sequel. Change the title too while you are at it because just because you use the original title doesn’t mean it’s going to help you at the box office. If you reboot something you have to at least keep the main character the same or the franchise falls apart.

I’m looking forward to this movie. I actually like Rob Zombie’s movies so far. Maybe there will even be a cameo appearance by the “Danactive Lady”? lol j/k Sorry JLC.

Daniel F says:

I think having the mask off for more than a full minute is an insult to the entire thing. Zombie destroyed the last halloween I didn’t think it could happen, but this one sounds to be even worse. Myers wasn’t even scary in the last one maybe in this one he will be fun loving and full of joy. Any one who liked the previous Zombie Halloween film clearly doesn’t appreciate good well thought out horror films and will watch any gore fest slasher that comes their way. Halloween was in my opinion the single greatest horror film. It was simply brilliant and what Zombie did to it was terrible it destroyed a classic. It’s like the Psycho remake, but shockingly worse.

Mandarr says:

@ Daniel F
I enjoyed the original Halloween as much as the next guy, but I still thought Zombie’s version was fun. Yeah it wasn’t scary, but neither were the original Halloween movies. In fact the only “scary” horror movie I’ve ever seen would be The Exorcist. If all horror movies are supposed to be “scary”, then they’ve all missed that mark by far. Zombie’s film was at least what most other horror movies is not, and that was fun. To me at least. It didn’t destroy a classic either in my oppinion. It’s just a different version. If they were to remake movies word for word and action for action, then what would be the point of making a newer version?

Daniel F says:

How about not making a newer version ? Movies that are considered great shouldn’t be remade and that’s the point. If it was done right the first time why do it a second? It’s never as good and comes out pointless. I’m sorry to hear that you actually liked Zombies movie considering it was pure crap.

i think most of the time “remakes” are not aimed at people who like or have even seen the originals. i don’t think the goal is to please those people at all. i think “remakes” are an attempt to attract the main target demographic of 18-25yr olds who’ve probably never seen the originals and if they had, would probably thing “they were cheesy”. i guess there ’s nothing wrong with rehashing a franchise to attract a new audience. it’s a smart business move, i suppose.

Shawn says:

The first Halloween he remade was very well done, looking forward to this one.

Victor Hugo says:

I Love Halloween, and I Think It Is The Greatest Horror Movie Ever Made! Thanks John Carpenter! Rob Zombie Did Change The Story A Little, But I Think That His Movies Are Still Amazing :) I Was Afraid Of Rob Zombie Changing The Whole Plot, But Now I Think It’s Alright, As Long As The Movies Still Relate To the Original Halloween and As long As It Scares The Sh*% Out Of Me, I’m Still Gonna Watch Them :) I Can’t Wait To Watch This Movie, Halloween 2 Is Gonna Make Me Jump Like Crazy!!! I have Never Seen A Horror Movie At The Movie Theathers, But I’m Gonna Watch This!!!! HELL YEAH!!
~~Victor Hugo~~

Daniel F says:

I’m sorry victor did you say he changed it a little ? He changed it a lot. He destroyed the story.

Steve says:

I think his recent remake was very good indeed. Acting wise and (I know I’m in the minority) but I did enjoy the backstory to it.

Paul Young says:

@necro – first you have a horrible name. second, way to come here and call people names for having a different opinion than you. That alwyas works to convince people to agree with you.

My point is, if Zombie can come up with a better idea then why not just write a better movie? He’s not doing anything original with this script. Just throwing in more gore and less emotion. I would have more respect for his film making abilities if he would continue to try and make his own work instead of ripping off others. However, he is in talks to direct a segment of Heavy Metal and I think he would be a good fit for that and hope he signs a deal.

I don’t hate the man, I just hate his recent work.

Why so serious…??????
I seem to not understand treating original Halloween movie as
sacred cow, it`s been done some time ago, it made his director famous, it started a genre, but if I would have to choose from watching another weak sequel with funny mask and no real scenario, I prefer a new rearanged version, I think Rob Zombie is a good horror director, he keeps near to the classic, but also giving his unique style to those movies. If you`re against Halloween 2, just don`t watch it, it`s easy, I think that most of people who are such enemies of this projects are just like those soap opera critics who watch every episode, if You don`t like it leave it, it`s not realy that important, I mena it it is only a movie just like the first one, there is nothing divine in it just art, craft and entertainmemnt

Id like to say i enjoyed all the Halloween movies, except for Halloween 3 because Michael Myers wasnt even in it. As for Rob Zombie’s new Halloween Franchise, the first film was great i thought by seeing more of a origin for Michael. As for H2, well im not gonna give a negative comment till after i see it. I mean, aint these two films part of a Rebooted Halloween franchise?

Brian says:

This movie sucked both Halloween remakes by Rob Zombie sucked The girl that replaced Jamie Lee Curtis really sucked she is far off by worse Jamie Lee Curtis rocked in the old Halloween films that new one that played Lorie Storde sucks Donald Pleasants was way better than that new guy that played Dr Loomis

chrisj says:

Id give the movie 2 1/2 stars, maybe 3. Wasnt as great as the previous film but id say Zombie went of-course. I wasnt impressed with how Sam Loomis was played out. and besides the cast that returned, the others were crappy. Im lost for words about it other it could of been better. The Ending i thought sure did pay homage to the 4th film.
