The CW releases the synopsis for the Riverdale season 1 finale episode. Since debuting in January, the series has done well to keep its central mystery intact. Now 10 episodes into its freshman season, we're no closer to unmasking Jason Blossom's killer than we were in the premiere, and there's an array of suspects — and unanswered questions — still hanging in the balance. What are the Blossoms hiding? Was Jughead's dad involved with Jason's murder? Or was Veronica's? Will Hiram Lodge get out of jail? And who will be the second Riverdale character to die?

There's only two more episodes left before the big finale, but there's plenty of drama yet to unfold. The next chapter, "To Riverdale And Back Again," will find the crew thrown together during homecoming weekend, while the penultimate episode, "The Anatomy of A Murder," has teased someone getting arrested, Jughead recovering from the betrayal of his friends, and Cheryl finally confronting her parents about why they treat her so much worse than they did Jason.

Now, The CW has shared the final piece of the puzzle with a synopsis for the Riverdale finale. See the official description below:

Archie (KJ Apa) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) continue to grow closer. Betty (Lili Reinhart) is tired of her family acting as if nothing has happened and confronts her mother. Jughead (Cole Sprouse) finds himself in an unexpected situation, leaving Archie and the gang scrambling. Hermione (Marisol Nichols) makes Fred (Luke Perry) an offer that seems too good to be true. Meanwhile, the truth about Blossoms’ family business is revealed leaving Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) to take matters into her own hands.

Riverdale Archie and Veronica

Per usual, there's a lot to unpack. Fans of Veronica and Archie will be pleased to hear that the pair are building their relationship, but it seems everything else will be coming to a head. What happens to Jughead? Was he the one that was arrested? What kind of deal could Hermione possibly be offering Fred? Is she further entangling him in Hiram's illicit dealings?

Notably, there's no mention of Jason's killer finally being revealed, though the cast has confirmed it will happen before season's end. None of the summaries for the preceding episodes have mentioned when the second character's death will happen, either, so the timing of each event is still unclear. The only thing we do know is that the Blossoms' lies won't be unveiled until the finale, and from the sounds of it, Riverdale has no plans to leak its secrets early.
