I loved the original DTESS. I’m still not sure about seeing this one in the theaters.

Remakes are going to happen and we have two choices to see them or not..Isn’t free will grand?

Ken J says:

Well greenknight, enjoy your free will while you can. Something tells me we will have much less of it in the near future. Call me psychic if it happens.

Open that can and this thread will quickly become have the largest comment count on the site. Even though I agree, let’s not. Or did I just turn the opener a little more?

Free will may bite the big one but there will always be a choice.. just probably a bad choice and a really bad choice

Thats a good point. My favorite example of that comes from South Park. A couple of years ago they had an episode where Stan’s school was changing mascots, and the kids were supposed to vote to choose who they wanted. The two choices? A giant douche and a turd sandwich. Clearly a nod towards the real life elections we face all the time, yes we have a choice, but the choices are not always good.

and there in lies the rub..the illusion of free will is just that if all you are given to make is bad choices…They give us a bunch of bad options and we are led to believe we made the best “choice” we could..Sometimes it’s best to choose nothing..I’d rather not choose than be left with nothing but bad options..

Cheers

if you decide not to choose , you still have made a choice :)

I think Hollywood should focus on remakes more, but only by remaking every crappy movie they released in the last 5 years and this time make decent movies out of them.

I watched They Live for the first time a few weeks back and absolutely loved it. Did not see any cheese whatsoever.

Anniekins says:

Remakes are Hollywood’s way of saying we are totally out of original ideas. We have nothing to offer. We are dead in the water so we have to remake old movies. Enough said.
