I totally "got" the movie and I thought, "Okay, he must have done this on purpose". Is he playing with us because the theme is about storytelling. Perhaps it was an attempt to not take himself or the movie too seriously. When I saw it in the theatre, I thought it was on purpose but they have edited it out on TV and on the DVD. I really did not want to watch the movie again other than to see if the boom mics were still in the shot. I scanned as many reviews after initially seeing the movie but I could find no other review that mentioned the constant booms in the shot. It left me confused. The first hour or so held my interest, but then everything fell apart like a Jenga pile after that. Whoever compared this movie to Princess Bride should be given a drug test.
