Similarly, I thought The Grudge was inferior to The Ring in terms of storyline, but there was definitely no shortage of scares in either film. I can't remember the last time I was creeped out by a little kid (and no, The Omen and Firestarter don't count.) You make an excellent point about the sound. The right sound effects can have a dramatic impact on the effectiveness of a particular scene. Brian That’s interesting how you thought Ju-On was inferior to Ringu.
