Does ‘Collateral’ leave you with a better impression of Cruise playing Tony Stark? That’s the only thought on my mind regarding Cruise. :D
I really don’t plan to see this film. I might rent ‘Collateral’ when it comes out on DVD. Truth is, I have never completely watched a Tom Cruise movie. I might check out Minority Report soon.

That was on my mind as I watched the film. I left the theater much more confident in his playing Tony Stark in Iron Man (if that in fact happens). He fits not only as far as physical characteristics, but performance-wise I think he could pull it off as well.

I really saw no hint of “hey, look at me, I’m Tom Cruise” in this film.

I ACTUALLY WATCH MOVIES BASED MORE ON WHO’S DIRECTING THAN WHO’S STARRING. AND BASED ON THAT FACT I WOULD RECOMMEND VIEWING THIS FILM. I CANNOT QUOTE MICHAEL MANN’S FILMOGRAPHY, BUT I DO KNOW IF HE’S MADE AN UNINTERESTING MOVIE, I HAVE NOT SEEN IT. FROM THIEF TO MANHUNTER TO HEAT, HE’S GUARANTEED TO GIVE YOU A WELL CRAFTED PROJECT. AND THAT’S SOMETHING THAT YOU ONLY GET FROM A HANDFUL OF ELITE DIRECTORS.
