RIP Blade, you started off great but lost control, it should never have lost sight of the badass that is Blade. ThAnk God Goyer came thru on Batman Begins huh? Lol Can Blade really be done for?

That was one of the problems, morgansehl, it was more about the Nightstalkers than Blade. If they want to make a Nightstalkers movie, then they should call it Nightstalkers. Wesley Snipes is the one that made the Blade movies successful; the 3rd not really being about him hurt it.

See, despite Wesley Snipes role in this movie…I really loved the movie. They cheesed out on his character horribly, but the addition of Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel was brilliant, they made the whole movie for me, I could’ve done without Wesley Snipes all together. The only way I’d want to see a 4th installment is if and only if they were in the movie too.

I loved the original ‘Blade’ because the characters were interesting, the action scenes understandable, and the storyline intriguing. ‘Blade 2′ had none of these qualities, but this latest installment teases the viewer with all three of these factors. What I mean is I really wanted this movie to be good, but at each opportunity for greatness it fell flat on its face.

For example, we are finally introduced to one of the cells fighting the vampires. Cool, I thought, meeting interesting new characters can really draw you into a film. Not this time. I found myself almost immediately wanting the Hannibal King character to die a horrible death. There was one scene in particular where he was smart mouthing off to Blade…again. I honestly would have cheered if Blade had taken the opportunity to shut him up permanently. The new characters were completely uninspiring.

Most of the fight scenes are pure kinetics. I say this in the most negative way, i.e. the fighting is very hard to follow. I think this is the result of having actors not trained in combat performing fight scenes. The editors must have to constantly cut and paste bits and pieces to hide the mistakes??

Lastly, I wish someone would have told the producers that saying F***, does not make a character seem tough. Rather, it makes them look stupid.

If you must see it, wait for a rental.

I was extremely unimpressed by the trailer for this, but then again, I didn’t think much of the original Blade. It was okay, I suppose…

When was the last time Snipes, Biel or Reynolds starred in a good movie? Their presence on the screen seems to be the kiss of death. And don’t even get me started on Kris Kristofferson…
