I just saw a couple of those posters earlier. Those are pretty cool; they are indeed like the 70′s prison movie posters, as you mentioned.

Based on the description of the storyline, the subject matter initially sounded too dark and depressing to be enjoyable. However, since you liked it so much, I’ll check it out. The subject matter of Hustle and Flow didn’t appeal to me either, but I’ll add it to my Netflix queue.

I haven’t seen any mass advertising for Black Snake Moan so far; marketing such a film to the right audience would have to be a challenge.
