Screen Gems has released a full synopsis and cast list for the upcoming fourth installment in the Resident Evil franchise. Entitled Resident Evil: Afterlife, the film is to be shot in 3D and will pick up where the prior installment, Resident Evil: Extinction, left off before the entire franchise circles back on itself for a prequel/reboot.
Paul W.S. Anderson, director of the original Resident Evil will be back to write, produce and helm part 4, and star Milla Jovovich will be reprising her role as Alice.

Here is the full synopsis for Resident Evil: Afterlife:
In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.
I wasn’t that big a fan of Resident Evil: Extinction (and I know a lot of you weren’t either), so this next installment – despite the pretty 3D hook – is probably going to be passed on by me until it hits DVD/Blu-ray. However, I did enjoy the first Resident Evil (it doesn’t get much better for 3 a.m. insomniac viewing), so I am rather looking forward to having the series go back to the start and explore what happened to the special unit originally sent in to quell t-virus outbreak.
As for the cast that will be filling out Resident Evil: Afterlife, you’ll have the talents of Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Spencer Locke, Wentworth Miller, Shawn Roberts, Boris Kodjoe, Kim Coates, Norman Yeung and Kasey Barnfield.

I hope Resident Evil 5 has something to do with the games, unlike these 4
That’s as generic as a zombie movie story gets. Not excited at all for this one. I’m not the biggest Resident Evil (game) fan but I really appreciate what it has to offer. And it was lost in the movies.
Even if it’s the same old thing, and on par with 3 I’ll still go see it. What can I say? I’m a Resident Evil fanboy. Hopefully it’s better then 3 but I won’t hold my breath for that.
I enjoy the RE game series as much as the next gamer, but in no way did I expect the movie to reflect the game. They almost never do, which is a shame, especially considering so many people are fans of the series. I’ll probably end up going to see it, but I’m with Kyle — not holding my breath.
Yes!!! i cannot wait for this film to come out. but it says offical synopsis which i dont believe its fully true they just started filming the movie at the end of september dude i mean come on. some of it is true like L.A. is of course true. but by next year of maybe janurary or whenever the trailer is released the teaser trailer the storyline will change so we dont have the true one because claire aint even mentioned in it. so yeah we gotta wait for the actuall real one. but i cannt waaaittt love milla oh and THE OLD FRIEND thign in there. i believe thats JILL VALENTINE, and the whole trap thing i thtnink wesker released jill to her to set alice up becaus ein RE5 jill is bad rember for like the whole game till the end so yeah it may be JILLLLLL lets seee.
Along these lines… What ever happened to another ‘Ultra Violet’ film?
I’ll be checking it out. Hopefully it’ll be a decent zombie movie if nothing else.
Ultra violent to be honesy sorry milla love you your awsome but that movie i think is a rip-off your greatest work the RESIDENT EVIL FILMS. screw ulrta violet resident evil is the bomb!!!. yeah ultra violet had great action but come on it wasnt that good.

Does are really good, in fact just scrap the resident evil name and you have a good movie. So either they change the movie to something more near the game or they change the title.
Wentworth Miller, eh? WHen I hear that name followed by Resident Evil: Afterlife, I automatically assume there’s going to be talks about a certain Leon S. Kennedy in the works…?
there still making movies out of this franchise? i liked resident evil so i’ll give it a shot.
i love resdient evil this movie will be so much more like the games mostly like RE5 so i doubt leon is in it

I’m so happy to see him in this move though I’m not a big fan of this kind of movies but with Wentworth anything would be awesome as he is .

i think they shouldve added leon and chris wentworth miller looks more like leon than chris IMO darnnit oh well maybe theyll buff up miller and put contacts on him i mean chris dosent have blueish eyes.. ;( hes still hott though
