Those are indeed the best reasons for a remake or sequel, but alas they’re seldom the reasons those movies are made.

Of the necessarily few, legitimate reasons to go ahead with any remake or sequel, the one that is an absolute must is that the execution of the original is somehow lacking in some way or that there was room to explore new ideas with the same characters while being true to the nature of their characterization as portrayed by the first iteration – and be as entertaining as the first.

There isn’t any conceivable, rational way to make a Ferris sequel that can satisfy the first criteria, and the second seems highly unlikely considering the unknown helming the screenplay.

I can only pray they don’t try it. The first one as you said, Vic is like a classic among classics. And yes, the title alone sounds like one of those Disney movies that they team are to lazy to think of up a good sequel so they just say “again” or “another” or so forth.
