    i think the mexico storyline is safer-

    but i gotta say id love to see rambo fight something badder than he is. even as crazy and farfetched as it sounds.

    @Kofi

    "SOMEBODY needs to get a handle on this drug cartel/human trafficking mess, and it might as well be Rambo – somebody has to also get a handle on this rouge super-soldier mess, and it might as well be Rambo(strikethru) Sylvester Stallone."

    LOL! That really made me laugh. It is so true.

    So we'll finally get that sequel to Taken!!!
  • Showtime
    Didn't AICN cover this already?
  • SK-47
    Yes aicn did but ScreenRant confirms sources otherwise we get a Margaret Thatcher debacle like yesterday.
  • Always glad to give Screenrant the first scoop!

    "By now you Rambo fans no about..."

    C'mon Kofi, shouldn't it be "KNOW"?

    Good article, though. Maybe the hunter/killer story can be "The Expendables 2." LOL.
  • Personally I'm glad they're going with a more real world story. I wasn't a fan of the super-soldier thing.

    @M.K.

    Sorry it took us so long to get this story on the site.

    @Showtime

    We mistakenly put "exclusive" in the title - shouldn't have.

    I'm happy with either storyline. I'm with you Kofi--I want to see Sly in Hunter in addition to Rambo 5
  • @Vic

    No worries man.

    All i can say is "THANK GOD"

    after hearing the movie might be based on hunter, i went along and read the book, and it sound awesome.
    they could have kung le or donnie yen as the japanese samurai guy, and replace the chick with school boy, and there is a SAS soilder... bald guy from rambo 4 anyone ? hehehe

    the hunter story would be cool if they didnt add the creature but rather a psycho path who escaped a migh end military base.

    as for the mexican thing, it would be cool but i dont like the idea, there will of course be one scene where he jumps on something and starts killing hundreds of people just for the sake of it (and to save the movie from disaster like in 4)

    either way im happy, been a rambo fan since i could speak hehehe

    I think the Mexico story line fits Rambo much better than the "Hunter" inspired concept. Hunter is more "sci-fi" and for me, having Rambo mixed-up with it is like seeing James Bond suddenly being beemed-up on Starship Enterprise. Hehe, imagine this scene:

    Bond (Classic version): Computer, vodka martini please...shaken, not stirred!

    Or this:

    Bond (Daniel Craig version): Computer, vodka martini please.

    Computer: Shaken or stirred?

    Bond: Do I look like I give a damn?!!

    Okay, sorry for that, couldn't help it! But anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing a separate movie version of Hunter. If Sly would star in it, I think he should refrain using the Rambo character in it.

    Just my two cents!

    This story makes much more sense and lines it up for another bloodbath like the previous. I didn't care so much for the universal soldier dealo. Even though I'm sure there would have been plenty of casualties caught in the crossfire. Rambo deserves swarms of baddies to put down and what better than human traffickers. I'm in.
  • jwalka
    in hunter all these military soldiers get screwed by the "creature" and the explanation of their deths is gruesome (hand tearing through chests, heads ripping off etc.) although it may seem sci-fi it really isnt (at least i dont think) the book when i borrowed it was under action not sci-fi, the only sci-fi thing is the creature and they could easily change that (movies change things all the time (harry potter ))
  • deacon
    How abt that creature turn into Universal Soldier plot where they use the dead soldier as test subject, and Rambo has to confront some of his ex-dead-comrades?
  • roger
    bring 'em both
  • The Big Dentist
    Rouge super-soldier mess? I agree, fighting trannies would definitely not sit well in the Ramboverse!
  • John L
    I love Rambo films (not the whimpy 3rd)...I like the idea of Rambo going to Mexico with a good excuse to kill bad guys. Savage Hunt is not Rambo, but I would like to see Sly do more action/violent movies. Keep the gore in the script without tag-a-long comrades. Rambo should do it on his own, his a superhero!
  • Lord Garth, Formerly of Izar
    Still think he should be going into Afganastan to fight those he helped train in III with the set up that the cute little kid sidekick has grown into a badly bearded muslim fanatic terrorist version of Rambo and hides weapons in his filthy beard. Rambo Vs. Bearded Islamic Fanatic Rambo

    But this Rambo Vs. Mexican drug- slave cartels is going to be goooooooood too. Some of those border towns are lawless and bloody with murders in the street in broad daylight and illigeal alien gangs roaming the streets armed liked militias. Rambo killing them would be nice too.
