“Racist” Survivor? I Doubt It

Aug 25, 2006 by

Everyone is up in arms about the latest Survivor “please-tune-in-because-it’s-different-this-time” gimmick: Tribes separated by race.

It seems there will be four tribes of five members each, one white, one black, one Asian and one Hispanic.

Of course the producers knew this would generate boatloads of publicity, and as someone once said: “There’s no such thing as bad publicity”.

See now here’s the thing (and my prediction): This “split” will last two, maybe three episodes, tops. Remember the big deal last year where they split up the guys into young and old teams and did the same with the women? I thought it was a great idea, but I gave them a raspberry for having the teams only last (if I recall correctly) two episodes. So much for the great new concept.

Same thing will happen here, you just wait and see, and then there will be nothing to talk about.
