Can You Pass This Game Of Thrones Spelling Test?
Game of Thrones hits the small screen again in only a few short months, and fans are gearing up for the return to Westeros: the land of sudden death, lots of sex… and impossible to spell names.
The series is home to a huge number of characters spread across multiple continents, with complex and intricate alliances and relationships for fans to unravel. Characters who manage to survive might show up every few episodes, or they make only make an appearance once or twice, reappearing after a long absence. It’s not the easiest series to follow as a result, and the names themselves make things even more complicated. Although there are one or two characters with relatively simple monikers (thank you, Jon Snow) the majority sound like they were named by the sort of particularly imaginative barista who manages to insert four extra letters into the word ‘Joe’. Some are even part of other languages, also created for the incredibly detailed world of Westeros.
So ahead of the new season (arriving this summer), we challenge fans to try and spell all kinds of character and place names correctly – from the Mother of Dragons to her competition for the Iron Throne. It’s time to play the spelling Game of Thrones!
