Can You Name These Classic ’90s TGIF Shows?
For anyone who grew up in the 1990s, the initials “TGIF” likely holds a special place in their hearts. The ABC network continues to captivate family-oriented audiences but the heyday of the TGIF programming was back in a simpler time before so much cable TV, premium channels, and streaming services.
Every Friday night, kids gathered ’round the ol’ television to watch the latest family friendly hi-jinks of Steve Urkel, The Tanner family, Balki Bartokomous, and so many more wonderful sitcom characters. And sure, there will always be the mainstays of that era to help define us all as pop culture sponges. Knowing how Steve turned himself into Stefan Urquelle, talking about how sad you were when Papouli died, or being able to do “The Dance of Joy” all act as a sort of short-hand to let others know “Hey, I’m a ’90s kid!” And as much as we all remember from those days, what will undoubtedly come as a surprise is just how many shows you may have forgotten from the decade. Thank God For Fridays!
So put on your neon thinking caps, slap bracelets, and Starter jackets and let’s see if you can name all these ’90s TGIF shows!
