Yah, I knew you were going to fall back on your wording of majority instead of all. I typed a response to that but decided not to post it. So conveniently every person who would say they shop at wal-mart you would simply respond, "oh, but you're an exception, so don't worry, not talking about you." Nice.

About your father, sorry to hear that, and sorry to ask this, but was his medical disability BECAUSE of negligence from Wal-Mart? Because 1st, the injury must occur while working for the store, and 2nd, it must be an injury that the store did not have measures to prevent that wasn't followed. So even injuries that result from the workplace, not all of them the store would be liable.

Like back when I worked my crappy retail job when I was in highschool, the store had tall ladders that rolled on wheels to get things that were up high. You were supposed to lock the ladder down to these legs and off the wheels before you climbed the ladder. But sometimes we are lazy and don't lock the ladder down, so we can quickly climb up and move the ladder right after. If one of us would have falled because of that, and I've come close once because it's easy to tip over while it's on its wheels lol, technically, that's your mistake, not the store's and it's almost like you did it on your own time, haha. But true, most stores would grant you disability for that anyhow, but if they choose not to, there's very little you can do about it from a legal standpoint, because technically you failed to follow your training... At least that's how I understand it... I could be wrong and it could vary from state to state... Maybe I should read up on OSHA...

And I won't even bother sending in a complaint letter for any store, why bother complaining about someone getting paid minimum wage, that's like writing a letter to complain that my burger wasn't flipped right at McDonalds...

Just stick with online shopping, you'll save more money that way, lol, and customer service that way doesn't even exist so you can't really complain about it, lol. :-D

Target: closed at 9pm
Best Buy: Overpriced and closed at 9pm
local grocery store: closed at 11pm

Oh well, still at work during all of those hours... Can't believe you shop at Best Buy, what is it, $60 for 1GB of RAM that would cost you $15 online? lol. They BETTER give you good customer service, you're paying for it!

Ken, if you noticed I said a MAJORITY of their customers. Not all. Does it really kill some people to bathe or brush their teeth??

I have a unique perspective on WalMart because my father started working there PT after he retired. He ended up on a medical disability and they "conveniently" found another reason to let him go after he couldn't work for 2 months (WITH a doctor's note!) I also hate the excuse "Oh, it's retail." Bullspit. I work retail and, while not the greatest job, I can afford to go on vacation every year, take my girl out to dinner occasionally and pay my bills. I don't need welfraud or handouts. WalMart doesn't care about people at all dude. I had a really bad experience there about 6 years ago, sent in a letter with my complaint, and I got a rubber-stamped form letter back in the mail basically saying we're sorry, but we don't care. So that is why Target, Best Buy and my local grocery stores get my business instead.

If you have enough money to shop on principal, then I'm proud of you dude. I shop based on convenience and price. I wonder how much worse their employees would be paid if people stopped shopping there and they started losing money.

Besides, it's RETAIL. Please let me know which retail job will give you a good salary and benefits. I used to work retail, it was crap, but it's not a job you intend to stay in, it's meant for high school or college students until they can get into their career. If these Wal-Mart employees hate their crappy retail job so much, they should get an education and get a better job. Unlike the misconception that unemployment is bad and higher minimum wage is good, a low minimum wage and an unemployment rate for around 5% are GOOD things for the economy. There actually is a purpose for low paying crappy jobs in our economy.

While they complain about their crappy paying job, the only reason why they can afford to purchase groceries and stuff is because of crappy paying jobs... Either that or they go on welfare and we're paying for it, lol.

Anyway, I like Wal-Mart, I get out of work at strange ass hours, and the only things open are Wal-Mart or the crappier Walgreens, lol. So you tell me Andy S, what are my choices?

And besides, your argument is against the establishment, yet you made a statement against SHOPPERS of Wal-Mart. What's your reasoning behind that? You think all shoppers of Wal-Mart are only shopping there because they want to help the "evil" corporation screw over their employees? Or do you see them as "cheap" people who shop at strange hours of the night? Just wondering as a shopper of Wal-Mart...

How about the fact that they pay their employees crap, have horrible benefits and, despite what you think Ken, they don't give a rats behind about their customers. THAT is why I don't shop there if I can avoid it. Their customer service is HORRIBLE, and their resolution of complaints is even worse. They don't have ANYTHING that isn't available somewhere else, and I am willing to spend a few extra dollars to support a company that treats it's customers AND employees better.

Not to mention they are also open 24 hours, which is great because it caters to those who work in jobs that run 24 hours, Police, Fire Fighters, Paramedics, nurses, doctors etc. Thanks Wal-Mart, you've saved my skin so many times because of that...

Why? Are their prices too cheap and their attitude not snooty enough? :-D

Sure they don't feature Apple crap and Starbucks there (thank goodness), but they have car parts and ammunition. What more can you ask for? I got a 20-60x namebrand spotting scope there with an angled eyepiece for $60 where something like that would have cost $100+ EASY somewhere else. But I guess some people spend the extra money to feel "higher class." If that makes them feel better about themselves, then it's well worth the money I guess... Keep our economy strong guys, do your part! lol.

Maybe they can do it while sipping on their mochadulcewhatchablahblah latte. :-P

Congrats to those who won. Hope you enjoy the movies, haven't seen Push so I don't know but I saw Knowing and it was HORRIBLE, but the beginning of the movie was alright, kind of interesting, then the supernatural stuff started happening, and then the ending, oh my did it start falling apart in the second half... But anyway, it doesn't hurt to just watch it, especially if it's free. :-P So congrats!

@Cloverfield
Well, I almost always get my electronics from BestBuy, with an extended warrantee. I mentioned seeing the machine at Wal-Mart just to show that prices are not astronomical. But yes, Wal-Mart isn't the best place to buy electronics.

BTW, what did you do with all those little critters you unleashed on Manhattan? :-)

@790
Push had its moments. Yes, Wal-Mart does suck when it comes to electronics. Instead of paying a buck, now you can get one for free. Did you enter the contest?

@ Kahless......You are an obvious well respected member here at SR and I enjoy your posts so I have to tell you. Please don't buy yout electronics at (shudder) Wal-****. I made that mistake once....and am still paying for it, less than a year old.....57 days later it's replacement finally arrived, ( after a promise of 7 business days)and was a re-manufactured (if possible) worse piece. With everyone pricematching now days, take the add in to your local Best-"Lie" or print off the price and description and they will give you the deal.

I actually liked Knowing, and thought Push was OK at best. I will, eventually, get a Blu-Ray so I wouldn't mind having these as starters. I saw a Blu-Ray/DVD player at Wal-Mart for less than $250, so they are not that expensive anymore.

Push was alot of fun....however Knowing should make the "Worst of 2009" top ten list. ( with Cage's acting/or lack there of coming out a negative -6.7). Godd luck to all.

Good luck to those eligible. They may not have been the best films in the last year, but I hear they're interesting to watch. Personally I'm interested in seeing Push, even with it's bad reviews. Too bad I'm from the UK.
