Actor Jason Moore has revealed a brand new poster for The Punisher online today. 2017 is shaping up to be a big year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and not only on the film side with Guardians, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Thor: Ragnarok. In fact, this year fans will finally get to see the long-awaited team-up between Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Danny Rand/Iron Fist (Finn Jones), when Marvel and Netflix release The Defenders later this August.

But The Defenders will only be the second of three series set to be released by Marvel and Netflix this year, with Jon Bernthal set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe again when he reprises his role as Frank Castle in The Punisher. While the series was not included in Marvel's original plan with Netflix, The Punisher is already shaping up to be one of the most-anticipated releases from the two companies yet, following Bernthal's critically-acclaimed introduction as the character in Daredevil season 2 last year.

While no official release date has been announced for The Punisher yet, that hasn't stopped Marvel and Netflix from promoting the series. In anticipation of its release as well, one of the show's stars, Jason Moore, has revealed the first look at a brand new poster for The Punisher through his official Twitter account today. Check it out for yourself down below:

In keeping with Marvel tradition, not much is actually known about The Punisher as of right now, other than that it will pick up sometime after the events of Daredevil's second season. In addition to the series' new cast members, though, it has been revealed that Bernthal won't be the only familiar face making an appearance in the series, with Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page also set to play a role of some kind in The Punisher, which should provide the series with some nice connective tissue to the rest of The Defenders world.

The poster's minimalistic style doesn't reveal anything new about the series either, once again promoting a vague 2017 release date, and only featuring the spray-painted white skull from Castle's Punisher costume. But it does continue to tease a dark and deadly road ahead for Castle and everyone else that's set to appear in the series, and the darkness of the poster fits in well with everything else that has been released from The Punisher so far, which admittedly, isn't much.
