This film looks fantastic, the way it is filmed, the music…I know it is only trailer music. I think the robberies are inside the original banks. Most of the scenes are filmed at the original sites.

I am glad Johnny is doing something that resembles the Donnie Brasco character, something that is not too wacky! Somebody normal!
I am very biased on Michael Mann. DePalma, Fincher, Malick and him are four directors, if attached to any project, I will check it out no matter what. I already knew that this was going to be a film to watch for me, just seeing it in the form of a trailer only got me more overly excited!

I think people would have been impressed with anything just because Christian Bale and Johnny Depp are in this movie. I don’t have any great feelings for either one of them, so I guess for me I am not too impressed. It could be good, but you can’t really tell that just by this trailer…

The thing that keeps bothering me about this trailer is the bank. I remember some photos of the banks Dillinger robbed, they were NOTHING as modern looking as this one. I kept thinking that it was a movie set in today’s time but with everyone in suits and hats…

And about how “cheap” the way the filming feels, that’s what I’m talking about, it reminds me of Collateral, but for that you can imagine someone following them with a HD digital camcorder but that doesn’t really work in a movie set way in the past before that stuff…

I wasn’t that impressed by this trailer actually.

I think Mann’s digital style of shooting looks very cheap and so does the cinematography. It worked in Collateral since the entire movie was up close and personal, mostly inside of a Taxi.

This movie however, should be epic and I don’t get that vibe. It doesn’t excite me at all other than the fact it’s about the John Dillenger story and it has an amazing cast – which sell the movie for me regardless.

Well Robert the reason Johnny Depp is all over the poster and the trailer is because he is the main character, it’s not like Bale and Depp are equally main characters in this movie, Depp is the leading man and Bale is the lead supporting actor it seems.

Looks very exciting to see these two amazing actors together in a film, i mean these guys are the best young actors in hollywood right now. Christian’s not in much of the trailer really hope he has a big part in the movie. The movie looks awsum cant wait for july.

Johnny Depp stole Donny Brasco from Al Pacino
and Johnny will steal Public Enemies from Christian Bale.
It is not an accident Johnny’s name is above the title for this film.

Looks fantastic and the cinematography looks amazing with some of the wide shots he’s using..Depp and Bale together will almost be as iconic (in 10 years) as Pacino and DeNiro in Heat..Oh that pciture had Michael Mann too..He must be amazing to work with because he certainly gets A-list talent to work in his films..

This is shocking the movie actually looks good to me and it has Depp in it probably my least fave main stream A lister in all of hollywood. Though it’s probably due to Christian Bale and good Directing that it looks good, but still from the trailer Depp appears to actually be giving a decent performance. Amazing.

This is THE MOVIE of 09 for me, well, other than Malick’s Tree Of Life that is.
You are right Vic, the cinematography is great but that is to be expected from a Mann film. I am expecting nothing but class all the way!!!

Looks just as kickass as I was hoping for, Bale is my favorite actor and Depp is very good, nice to see these two face off on the big screen. I just hope we don’t hear a bunch of stuff like Batman vs. Captain Jack or any of that crap. THEY DO MORE THAN JUST THOSE MOVIES PEOPLE!
