Moviegoers in the mood for some light-weight sci-fi entertainment will get just that when Men in Black III hits theaters later this month. Those looking for something with more intellectual substance and genuine 3D eye-candy (as opposed to the MIB threequel’s post-converted effects), will have to wait an extra couple weeks for Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel/spinoff, Prometheus.
Today, we have the latest featurettes for both of these new installments in sci-fi tentpole franchises (Men in Black and Alien, respectively). As it were, these clips perfectly illustrate the difference in tone and content between the two films.
Men in Black III
There’s been an influx of featurettes and clips from Men in Black III recently, as Sony strives to heighten anticipation for the belated third chapter in the MIB series. Despite director Barry Sonnenfeld’s assurances that MIB 3 will close out the trilogy in a heartfelt manner, early footage indicates this flick (which went through a slapdash production process) really has just three things going for it – Rick Baker’s imaginative alien design, Josh Brolin’s uncanny Tommy Lee Jones impersonation and Will Smith’s enduring charisma (see: the featurette below):

Prometheus
Most of the people reading this are probably well beyond needing to hear director Ridley Scott and his Prometheus collaborators continue to talk about the film’s astonishing visuals or provocative themes concerning the origins of humanity – they just want to see the damn movie already! However, since we still have just under a month left until that’s possible, an extended 3-minute examination of the project (complete with interviews, behind-the-scenes clips and previously-unseen footage) will have to suffice, in the meantime.
Prometheus arrives in U.S. theaters (2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D) on June 8th, 2012.

Pirates of The Caribbean- part7
Interesting to see reviews for MIB3. Once it’s better than the 2nd one and as fun as the first I’ll be happy. Still gonna see it unless reviews are Transformers 2 bad.
Prometheus is a must.
I get literally (yes, literally) nauseous when I think about Prometheus… it’s that feeling I had as a kid 40 years ago when an exciting movie was announced, or those last few weeks before Christmas. I haven’t felt this way since my childhood, so it’s an awesome feeling.
I intend on taking the 3-hour drive into town to go see Prometheus in Imax 3-D, and waiting in line for hours if I have to. First time I’m so excited about a premiere since the very first Star Trek movie.
cant f’n wait for prometheus.
