Prometheus Alien Movie Connection Explained Prometheus Alien Connection Explained

Ridley Scott’s “return to the Alien universe” in Prometheus has been the subject of unimaginable speculation ever since the film was revealed to tell a related story – as opposed to serving as an outright prequel. For months cinephiles have poured over Prometheus trailers and set images hoping for a clear picture of where, exactly, the highly-anticipated film would fit into the iconic story of the xenomorphs. Fortunately, the Prometheus marketing has been (for the most part) pretty subtle – flashing a variety of mysterious and tense shots entirely out of context – leaving speculators with little information to analyze.

Now that Prometheus (read our review) has officially been released, information about the secretive production has come flooding in – and we have a much clearer picture of how Prometheus is connected to Alien (and the larger Alien universe). To help steer discussion we’ve put together a lengthy analysis of Prometheus and explained a few of the plot points that might have been confusing to some moviegoers. Does our Prometheus explanation match your theory? Find out!

  1. i feel they were looking for weylands body and they had the moons mixed up if you know the alien universe like i do lv 223 and lv 426 were moons with a third moon yet named but i think the reason was the company had the wrong moon and nostromo set down in hopes of returning weyland to the company

    • so… this is your theory for the first Alien movie from 1979, based on “Prometheus” ??? that is one reverse-causal-stunt there! haha!

    • okay sorry to use a reply but my computer doesn’t let me post……in response to the whole Alien/”Enginer’s”(i have bad spelling don’t comment about it)there are a few forums online that i and several others have made a sound connection between the Alien series and the Halo series amazingly and as stupidly as it sounds but we have our evidence.
One the Wayland Yutani corrporation exists in both univere’s and is a highly profitable millitary supplier(Read the books).
The enginers (if you dont go by the damn game) look almost identical to the Forerunners. The cryo tanks they use match up as well.
Granted we see the diffrences theres a site that i found and got me started on the forums but i cant find no more that helps exsplain it all. the covanent knew about them and feared them. They way we’ve done it is the Xenomorphs were a bio weapon against the flood a last resort while the Halo’s, Dyson Sphere, and Shield worlds were being made they tried to controlle the Earth Mother’s(highest creatures in the Hive Hierarcy) but they lost controll and abandoned them on the three planets.
Alien picks up one of the transport ships that was on its way to these three planets when it was attacked by the flood…the Halos fired freed it of the flood but it crashed. What made the Xeno’s good against the flood was that the flood couldn’t convert them into thier controll due to the Acid blood which made the Infection forms penatrator useless but niether could the xeno’s take the flood for the boodies are clinicly…dead so inhospitable for breeding. i could go on but if you find the page which has all the Xeno types from the egg to the queens to the empresses, the crushers, predsaliens,to earth mothers let me know cause i have people i need to contact their

  2. Have watched all the films umpteen times and think they are great although the AVP series were a bit of a let down and could have been better. I hope they can all be tied together revealing a galactic struggle between the Predators, one of the eldest living things in the universe who seek to destroy, and the Engineers (equally as old) who evolved on the other side of the universe and are creators, mostly…. The Engineers might even be, or have been, Predator slaves, there solely to seed planets with hosts for their prey. They’ve now escaped slavery and are systematically destroying all the host planets created for the Predators. They both like their helmets don’t they!

However, if not the case the begining of the film kinda makes more sense to me if the Engineer whose DNA goes on to create us was being punished, a death sentence, to drink the goo (they’re not perfect either). Even their penal system though, when the most extreme form of punishment is exacted on an individual, the sentence isn’t terminal, life is a cycle, from death comes life. Or possibly this is what they all aspire to, self sacrifice to create, perpetuate. Do they have females btw? Imagine a Predator female!

In AVPr the Predator who appears to leave a Predator inhabited planet to hunt down the Predalien sits in a chair in his spaceship similar in design to that of the engineers which got me thinking the Predators have excelled at technology where as the engineers at biology. If this is the case then humans are taking the predator route rather than a biological one, another poss reason for our destruction.

The original article mentions the Weyland organisations start date, as it existed in AVP with Lance Henrikson at the helm the company was probably started in the latter part of the 20th century, the films exist, it would be foolish to continue the story without acknowledging this fact and the elements linking them.

Glad I got that off my chest, no answers I’m afraid, plenty to mull over and a long road ahead methinks!

  3. I really to enjoy the wonderful world of this universe it includes , Alien , Predator , and Prometheus they all tell there own story within the same universe

with wayland been involved in AVP , with AVP2 isent a great movie or in some cases a good movie , it does feature impressive cgi and a fressness of the xenomorphys and predators

  4. I am an Alien fan, especially the original ’79 masterpiece. Nothing like that has been done since….except…..

One guy always stuck out in my mind that could take the visionary seat and create a prequel with proper justification; to match the mood, scenery, effects and macabre tone that Ridley Scott provided so perfectly in the original Alien.

In my eyes, that man is Chris Cunningham.

With my whole heart and soul, I believe PROMETHEUS would have been a more successful and groundbreaking sequel if Scott had hired Cunningham instead of Lindelof and Co.

I am so disappointed in Prometheus. I looked forward to it for over a year, and I feel insulted with what I was given. Like, the worst Xmas gift ever. A bag of human s***.

Shame on you Ridley for being manipulated by a horrible script.

Chris, you would have made Prometheus a star.

    • sorry, but Chris Cunningham is NOT a writer… actually the only thing he’s credited for writing is the “windowlicker” music video.
but i concur with everything else you typed. :-)

    • I respectfully disagree. I think you are probably blinded by your love of Alien and your expectations. This movie wasn’t supposed to be Alien. You even refer to Alien as “the original Alien,” as if Prometheus was supposed to be a remake when this is not the case at all. The tone, the scenery, the themes: these were all different on purpose because they wanted to take the trilogy in a different direction (less a horror flick and more a science fiction flick that delves into much deeper themes about religion, creationism etc). Try watching it again but don’t view it as Alien (maybe itll grow on you). Either way, it was definitely a successful attempt at reviving the franchise and widening its appeal. As for the cast are you kidding me? You could not ask for a better cast than this one! I think they kinda lucked out there…but I definitely agree that there were some mistakes made along the way in terms of the writing (why didnt Vickers just roll to the side?!), still I don’t think it was any worse than any other movie. I get the feeling they changed a lot of stuff at the last minute, so maybe that’s why,

      • lol yeah I was thinking.. silly women, trying to outrun it when they could have just gotten out of it’s way lol

  5. I don’t know but I hope they make a second flick, I love the alien movies, not so much of a predator fan but oh well, if you have any info about the xenos and their franchise please lmk, I’m trying to find out everything about them (aliens, space jockeys ( engineers), predators”

  6. I don’t know but I hope they make a second flick, I love the alien movies, not so much of a predator fan but oh well, if you have any info about the xenos and their franchise please lmk, I’m trying to find out everything about them “aliens, space jockeys (engineers), predators”

  7. I think everyone seems to forget the beginning of the movie. In the beginning an Engineer is shown to be overcome by this nasty mutagen. While everyone’s theories are nice and all, that’s what begs the question the most. What happened in the beginning?

Now as far as the Engineers, the moon, the mutagen, and humankind, I speculate that the Engineers on the moon were scientists. Take into account the events in AVP, where there’s a pyramid in Antarctica with Aliens on it. This means that for thousands upon thousands of years, there have been aliens on earth.

I think that when the Engineers first visited Earth, they encountered these aliens, and saw the destructive force they were, took a sample of their DNA, and brought it back to their moon. The Engineers probably had created mankind while they were on Earth but before they found the aliens.

So they bring the DNA back to the moon to do studies on it and find that it rapidly mutates, which is why there is so much of it. Another possible connection along with this is that the aliens could have originated from Earth as well. Then the outbreak happens and it goes out of control. They leave one behind in a sort of cryostasis whose objective, when awoken (presumably to have been by other Engineers that were supposed to have found him/her but so happened to be the humans instead) is to destroy Earth to eradicate the xenomorph species.

Their hopes were probably that the xenomorphs originated from Earth or were only on Earth, and that the one left behind would be awoken very soon and eradicate this scourge of a species. However they were very wrong.

    • This kinda makes sense but why would they try to kill the xenomorphs with their own DNA?

    • That would be cool…but then how would you explain all of the ancient findings such as egypian/mayan paintings that show people looking at alien star systems. if the engineers left earth with a sample of that dan and didn’t return then how would mankind know where to find them? food for thought

    • I thought for sure it was completely obvious the aliens were placed on Earth by the Predators for the purpose of the battle in the temple…

Also people all are assuming that all of the Engineers got together to destroy humanity. Why does every one of the entire race have to act as one.. Do all humans act as one??!! How do we know that these weren’t just bad Engineers, but there are also good ones who came to Earth, made us, showed us where one of their colonies was, etc.

  8. I was also rather underwhelmed by Prometheus. Notably there was a complete lack of suspense.

Most of the effects were great, the acting was also very good, but the plot lacked anything of the ancient (million+ years) feel of the original Alien series xenomorph, even being side-tracked by 2 AVP’s in between.

Hopefully the sequel to Prometheus will repair the confusing conclusion I’m left with. Yet another android got dismembered/decapitated and I hope this doesn’t continue. It’s getting stale. He should have been pinned under something and grudgingly left to rust while what’s-her-name got the hell outta there. Flying around the galaxy with decapitated androids has been done already.

In “Alien” the plot revealed the Engineer gunner appeared fossilised, seemed to have grown out of the chair and his “helmet” looked like bone. All of these themes were destroyed by Prometheus, since nothing can be fossilised in just 2000 years and the Engineers’ helmets in Prometheus didn’t look like bone at all.

Trying to connect the dots, this movie is a mess. Although I liked it enough to re-engineer the DVD to include some of the deleted scenes, I can only treat it as a relatively decent space sci-fi with some xenomorphic remnants until a sequel makes sense of this unfortunate pile-up.

Finally, if they HAD NOT used anything from the Alien series (xenomorph, the crashed ship on LV426 etc.), then we’d all be hanging tongues out for a conclusion in Prometheus2 knowing it will tie everything up with the known universe of Alien. Wishful thinking?

Maybe I’ll have to wait for Prometheus2 and see if I need to edit both movies into something I’d rather have for myself.

    • There are no definitive details that claim the the original ship in the movie was only 2000 years old. ALL we know is that the outbreak took place 2000 years ago on the Prometheus moon. The first ship in Alien could very well have happened “who know’s when” thus allowing fossilization to occur.

  9. Just watched this movie and thought that it was very good. However, I am an ecologist and evolutionary biologist.. Breakdown of plot:

The question remains- why would the Engineers leave maps on earth to moon?
It is not the Engineer home world so they know that it will not be a point of contact. They know that the mutagen is bad and will not be good for people. The Engineers do not like people anymore… The ship was designed to release mutagen when entered. Sooo why go to all the trouble to allow humans to evolve to the advanced state required to trek across the solar system? The Engineers should have just cut down all humans when they were shooting bows and arrows. Conclusion: poor story planning…

  10. The beginning of the movie is obviously a reference to the theory of panspermia. Their take on it is apparently that the engineers needed organic material that would behave as a DNA template (i.e. the engineer who drinks the “goo”), to seed the Earth with what will ultimately lead to the evolution of humans.

When our ol’ granddaddy engineer drank the goo, it broke him down to the molecular level to disperse his/our template into the host planet (i.e. Earth), where it supposedly adapted/evolved to suit the environment and eventually cumulated overtime into the emergence of us happy homo’s (sapiens that is). This impression is supposed to be hammered home by the visualizations of DNA be deconstructed, being dispersed, then rebuilding itself and showing you cells starting to divide.

This theme is also supported by the fact that during the movie, whenever the goo touched any living organism, it would cause rapid evolution. Such as the earthworm that fell into the goo and became a phallus-esque deepthroating worm-snake, and when the goo was applied to whats-her-face’s lover’s drink, it mixed with his DNA, passed through his splooge into her baby-making factory, and resulted in face-hugging-hulk. Then, when the FHH mounted King Aryan’s face, it mixed with him again to make a wee-baby-xeno.

So basically we humans are a DNA tangents to Engineers. Xenos are Engineer + Human + Earthworm. Maybe that’s why they wanted to wipe us out? Maybe they feared what would happen if humans ever decided to mate with worms here on Earth?

    • lol! Funny description.

  11. Here’s a thought on the sequel to this prequel…..what if the ship that David and Elizabeth leave the planet on is in fact the same ship that has crashed on LV 426 in the original Alien??? Maybe it’s David in that Engineers suit….and maybe Elizabeth is elsewhere on the ship in hyper sleep only to be woken up by a follow up crew sent to LV 426 after the Nostromo disaster. And I’m sure they can reactivate David as well. Not sure where it would go from there but I just don’t see a Prometheus sequel with one human being in the whole movie…new humans must have to be introduced in some fashion. Maybe they take her back to earth and then launch a new fully staffed expedition to the engineer’s home planet with David and Elizabeth along for the ride. Let me know what you think……….

    • Now this doesn’t explain he burst chest of the space jockey but I’m sure Scott and crew can come up with something!

  12. It is ironic that Ridley’s vision of the “Engineers” was that of a much larger, stronger, & smarter being that had the same DNA as humans. Nephelum, “Sons of Gods” or the offspring of fallen angels. These human/Angelic offspring were also know as giants in history, they were bigger, stronger, & smarter than a normal human, it was like the DNA or whatever you want to call it inside of them made them better humans and since an angelic being would have vast knowedge of creation & all things, it would thus make them genius.

    • You make a good point

    • angels are aliens themselves. this jaded perspective of God really breaks my heart

  13. Well Its the same corporation both movies have. Thats where I knew they are both connected. Yet both movies have this robot guy. Simple

    • HOLY CRAP. HE’S RIGHT!

  14. You can tell Prometheus was polluted with James Cameron’s uneducated fear of everything carbon dioxide.

The planet’s atmosphere was supposedly 3% CO2, and called “deadly within 2 minutes”, when the facts are:

    Extreme and Dangerous CO2 Levels:

    1. Slightly intoxicating, breathing and pulse rate increase, nausea: 30,000 ppm (3%)
    2. Above plus headaches and sight impairment: 50,000 ppm (5%)
    3. Unconscious, further exposure death: 100.000 ppm (10%)

Note also on the automated surgery table the large CO2 sticker on the side.

And somehow the planet’s atmosphere within the structure is perfect and “cleaner than Earth”. Bah!

I don’t like it when the fraud of man made global warming theory invades any film I’d like to watch.

  15. What does everyone think of the religious connections? The disaster on the Engineers ship happened 2000 years ago, around the time of Christ. On earth, in ancient times, humans worshiped the Giants. Could it be that the Engineers were enraged that Man had shifted their worship to another Deity? And in their jealousy, condemned us to eradication? There was a regular occurrence to a reference of the cross and the time connections to the birth of Christ. Kinda off topic, but curious what others think.

  16. Perhaps all evolution would lead to the alien. The xenomorph was said to be a perfect organism. As a creature it has acidic blood which would deter most hostiles, it has a thick exoskeleton (that allows it to survive in space), and can reproduce needing only one member of its species. Given enough time perhaps any planet that can sustain life would eventually produce a xenomorph perfectly adapted to its planet.

Since that goo seemed to speed up the process of DNA evolution it would only be a matter of time before an alien was born. Which is why the engineers might use it to destroy planets or cultivate them.

  17. I finally got a chance to see Promethius and its Awesome! Very creative and entertaining, great acting and as far as the story it too was creative.I enjoyed it as much as I enjoy the Alien movies

  18. I think Bryan made an interesting point about religion not touched upon by anyone else here – There were lots of very clear references to christianity and the casual mention of the timeframe of the events being “about 2000 years ago” – ie about christian ‘year zero’ was too much of a coincidence to be accidental.
The legend of Prometheus tells how his fellow gods were angry that he had broken ranks and imparted knowledge & wisdom to their creation ( mankind ) and they duly punished Prometheus for this. Perhaps there’s an allusion here to “Jesus” imparting spiritual wisdom on earth – thereby incurring the wrath & punishment of the “gods” ( Engineers ) who didn’t want mankind to be in possession of it? Perhaps the opening scene was the punishment of “Prometheus” for sending his “only son” etc etc.
Anyhow I loved the movie and I’m looking forward to the sequel!

  19. After watching Prometheus several times I see how doing a direct sequel to Alien would have been too predictable and disappointing to lifelong fans of the franchise like me. I see the two as sharing common threads but being cut from different cloth. Alien deals with the evil and the good in mankind by pitting the malevolent Wayland-Yatani Corp. against the crew of the Nostromo by sending the latter on a dangerous mission to recover an alien life form for research and development into biological weapons.
Now you start to see the common threads. The Xenomorphs have already been developed into biological weapons by the Engineers and it was the Wayland Corp. (who becomes Wayland-Yatani) who sent the mission out to discover the Engineers albeit for a different purpose. At some point, assuming that after the ship PROMRTHEUS never returns the company was forced into a merger with a Japanese company Yatani who then learned of the ill-fated mission to LV-223 after receiving the transmission sent by Dr. Shaw before departing LV-223. Thus we get Aliens, Alien 3, and some consider Alien Resurrection in there.
Prometheus deals with the explanation of the origins of man, the belief in god, and the consequences for playing god, the definition of life and who God is (or if there is one true God) all in very esoteric and allegoric way. The dialog in the movie delves into very deep and often controversial subjects that wars have been fought over; millions killed in defense of one ideology over another. Also, if these Engineers created us, why do they have this distain for us and put together an armada of ships to destroy us that only by chance never reached us. Did they continue to observe us and decide we weren’t fit to go on as a species? Where they scared that we would develop the technology to find and destroy them “Who wouldn’t want to kill their father” so they decided to end us before we could end them? Or did they see us as inferior and want a clean slate to start again to try and do a better job? “Sometimes you have to destroy before you can create.”
I look forward to Prometheus 2 or Paradise as some have called it. I hope it answers many if not all of the questions posed above as well as shows us more closely how the events of the Prometheus voyage tie into the events of Alien and the misadventures of Ellen Ripley. Two great franchises dealing with opposite sides of the same coin.

    • correction, the Quote “Who wouldn’t want to kill their father” should have been “Who doesn’t want to see their parents dead” but the point is still valid. Also the quote is “one must destroy before he can create” should read ” Sometimes to create one must first destroy” but the point also holds valid.

Also as a clarification when I say from the knowledge by Wayland-Yatani (WY) of the ill fated PROMETHEUS mission you get Alien and all it sequels I mean that if WY knew about PROMETHEUS and LV-223 and then later picked up a distress beacon on a nearby moon LV-426 they put two and two together and at least had an idea what was there. Maybe they thought the Engineers where still there but when they found out through ASH that there where xeno eggs on board they sent the crew expendable order to recover a specimen and return it to earth. This was the basis for Alien and the preceding sequels. I assumed that Wayland Corp. became Wayland-Yatani through a merger because Wayland and presumably all of his heirs died on the Prometheus mission thus the ranking member of the “Company” left on earth would have assumed control and with no more Wayland saw fit to be bought out or merge with a Japanese company to form Wayland-Yatani.

  20. Why in order to understand Prometheus, must one read other novels and watch other movies. Those us not liking Prometheus were too distracted by the mistakes and blunders of the characters in the film to see how interested it could’ve been.
This is why this film failed on so many levels. Yes there was high tech high candy for those who like that kind of stuff.

What was the black goo, and green slime, what left behind the skin that the rock guy found, the picture of the queen alien when there were no xenomorphs created. What was the engineers running from. blah blah blah, was chariots of fire and watching space odessey supposed to tell me this. Will I have to do homework before i watch any films by sir ridley scott. More people were so annoyed by this film than like it. Why werent other religions noted in this film

  21. 1st thought at the beginning… the ship dropped off an Engineer on earth. He drank the potion specifically designed to destroy and recycle his DNA to give life to mankind. Similar to the biblical story of God giving his son so that we may have everlasting life in the kingdom of heaven.

2nd thought, no questions were answered IMO as to why the Engineer was hellbent on destroying the humans that were only on that moon because of ancient maps left on earth. I would really like an answer to that question.

  22. OK.. read this whole site and I must say there are a lot of interesting opinions, here is what I took:

    1. The kind delivered his son to his death for the worlds to be created to his likeness. (no punishment but sacrifice)
    2. The road map was not necessary shown but implanted in the DNA, therefore being available to all of us.
    3. Just like predator, I think they wanted to evaluate humans as more of a challange rather than tests. (Predator)
    4. The way to travel across the universe is similar on both Alien and Prometheus so if they are alternate universe, they are the vivid copy of each other.
    5. The evolution of the creature that lays eggs is facinating as in fact would have to been very big to take on an engineer.
    6. If a prequel to this movie.. it would have to be both prequel and part 2 as we need to see a delivery of facts and hopefully no more questions than answers.
    7. Last but not least, the alien similarity is one thing.. but if the engineer was considered a single sex being.. I can see how from one alien, there was a creation of a race.

The variables are awesome for this movie which I think Prometheus 2 should bring some incredible insights on all these schenerios.

    TB

  23. What I don’t get is how come “The Company” KNOWS of the existence of this species and purposely lure the Nostromo on LV-426 to get infected, if the Alien itself is a by-product of the Engineers bioweapon-mutation-goo stuff. This should mean that “The Company” knows about the Engineers, knows the cycle of life of the Alien etc. I really hope they won’t let this unexplained in the sequel/s.

    • I don’t see why the company needs to know about the Engineers to know about the Xenomorphs… Even with the equipment aboard the Nostromo, Ripley was able to partially translate the message coming from the derelict ship on LV-426 and work out that it was a warning. The company could’ve picked it up, deciphered it, found out the Xenomorphs were there and then sent the Nostromo to investigate.

    • My theory as I touched on in my comment above is that, just as Ripley left a final message before she went into hyper sleep in the Nostromo escape shuttle, Dr. Shaw does the same before leaving LV-223 with David on the alien ship to find the Engineers. This message was a warning not to land there as there was only Death. At some point between Prometheus and Alien Wayland Corp. and The Yatani company merge to form Wayland-Yatani (The company referred to in Alien). Yatani is mentioned in the factious webpage weylandindustries.com/timeline as being a start up company competing in the android market with Wayland and they even went to court over patents at some point and Wayland won. So assuming after Wayland dies almost immediately after waking up on LV-223 and all of his heirs or heir also die Yatani was able to overtake Wayland and it became either convenient for the two companies to merge or a hostile takeover by Yatini took place. Either way both company’s being one and yatani having access to all the information regarding the Prometheus mission and the message sent by Dr.Shaw was picked up by ” The Company” as well as the Beacon emerging from LV-426 they knew something was there. They may have initially not known what it was, if it was the engineers or another alien race, but im sure that the company thought it interesting that LV-426 was in the same system as LV-223 where the Prometheus mission was sent and never returned. After sending Ripley, Dallas and the rest down and Cain becoming infected Ash was able to report back to the company via Mother without the crews knowledge and the company wanted this “Xenomorph” to study and as any alien species would be worth millions or billions on earth the crew expendable special order was sent and Ash was instructed to get the Alien “sample” back at all cost. How he was going to do that since even Ash would be no match for the full grown Xenomorph I don’t know but I would assume Mother could have auto piloted the ship back to Earth if Ripley didn’t destroy it and kill the Alien.

Wow, sorry got a bit long winded that was a Rant. Anyhow that is my theory

  24. Great movie right off the bat. I can’t wait for the sequel. There were a lot of questions I would like to see answered in the next movie.

1.David’s knowledge was a bit extensive when it came to roaming and obtaining access to unfamiliar doorways. Was there a data transfer in the substance he touched on the entrance inscriptions or the passing of the holographic view of the sapiens running in the recreation of a past incident?
2.Who or what gave David the coding for self-progression, what was the purpose, and why would anyone expand the parameters of a machine to violate etiquette in protocols for such progression? Such as, the sanctity of a person’s dreams, mimicking a movie script, and committing murder then most of all, determining the right to exclude Ms. Vickers from the exploration of the cryogenic chamber? I’d have a fit if one of my “tools” told me what I couldn’t do.
3.Why wasn’t there a data request for everything David unraveled from his explorations?
4.Why wouldn’t a survey of the planet for signs of active life be conducted first, before exposing a landing party to unknown variables?
5.Why wasn’t there a geological survey completed first?
6.Why wasn’t there a determination for how the creation of the silicone wind storms conducted? Was there a larger civilization annihilated by WMDs? The silicone storm could reveal a bigger picture for planet history, allowing for “degrees of caution” determination?
7.The chain of command wasn’t established and cemented. Why? Safety and responsibility for crew monitoring at all times as well as sample collection monitoring done at all times, wasn’t in place for environment/safety control?
8.Samples of geological specimens as well as liquids wasn’t completed. Why?
9.Investigation for three of the four cryo-stasis-chambers wasn’t conducted and a reasoning deduced. Why?
10.Why wasn’t the chamber, where severed head was found, not investigated further? The remaining bodies? Where did they go? Why wasn’t the crystal in front of the deity emblem not studied for possible meaning or hidden exits?
11.Did the cracks around Vickers mean she plummeted into a crevasse before the ship could crush her? The resonance of her scream was distance related, not muffling related. Is she really dead? Heart monitor?
12.External decontamination of a specimen, like the head, doesn’t equal internal decontamination. Why wasn’t there a CDC type environment initiated when handling this severed head?
    13. Other life found in the other ships?
I can’t wait to see if these questions are revealed.
Thanks all and sorry so long.

  25. Maybe Ridley Scott is just a stoned nut who genuinely isn’t thinking through his own actions for his plots. Maybe he’s broke as F*** and needed to try and revive a series that doesn’t need reviving. I’ve read some of the things he’s stated about the movie, and HE doesn’t even quite understand what’s going on. He’s not sitting there thinking “How can I link all of these together?” Don’t the AVP series tell you anything? Making money. Capitalism. I can’t wait for the Jedi vs. Power Rangers!!! I’ll go watch Tarantino so I don’t feel so F-ing stupid for wasting my brain-power trying to put all these biological warfare questions to bed with answers when Ridley was clearly not sitting there thinking that deeply about it.

    • lol yeah the movie makers just make everything vague and let the nerd fans create the story.

  26. Oh! And lastly. You spend a TRILLION dollars on a mission, and you send ONE person per specific area of science (when Vicker’s ask’s David if anybody died from cryofreeze, she clearly implied that there’s a potential for someone to not survive the trip) to a mission that you Clearly weren’t positive on specifics? C’mon. 17 crew members on a ship that size? 17?! Ridley, put the joint down over there in Hollywood and try a lil harder. Thanks.

    • Amen!

  27. I really need someone to explain what was happing in the beginning of the movie. When Premethus drunk what ever that was and fell apart.

  28. Anyone else notice that there are 666 comments? I’m just gonna go ahead and make that 667, just because…you know, yeah. Carry on.

  29. When I first saw the ending in Prometheus I said, “Here we go”, when the “Last Engineer” climbed into the cockpit of the spaceship. I thought, this is the dude that they found in the first Alien movie, sitting at the controls of the ship with the hole in his chest. No, didn’t happen like that…, uh, huh? What? That was the perfect tie-in to the original, but I guess not. Leaving more room for a seq. to Prometheus? Great. I guess. On a side note, the first Xenomorph that came from the “Last Creator” has to be the Mother from Aliens right?, but then again evolution is a “mother”.
