Nothing against Jake Gyllenhaal who usually deserves all his acting awards, but he doesn't have action star chops. Yes, there are times when an Arnold or Bruce Willis or Keanu Reeves' acting outclass a Gyllenhaal's. Strange, but true. There is a certain acting skill set to being an action star.

You mean like “Rushmore”, “The Royal Tenenbaums”, “Good Morning Vietnam”… I could go on. Disney have never shied away from making R rated films, they just don’t always put the name Disney on it.

THe PG-13 rating is a good thing PG is what you have to watch out for. Besides they are not basing the movie off of The Warrior within Game which was rated M for mature. But its alleged that disney finances a porno company so who knows maybe disney will put out an R-rated flick in the future.

Only the actor from Warrior Within was British, the actor for Sands of Time and Two Thrones was a US actor putting on a bad British voice.

My apologies if I even slightly offended you. Haha I WAS going to mention the SW rule of evil but decided not to.

I don’t exactly remember the villains voices from the latest PoP game. I could have sworn they were UK accents. I may be wrong.

I didn’t know the voice actor from PS2 games was British. Hm, then I guess knowing that bit of information now…his voice acting was terrible. I shouldn’t complain any further. The movie regardless of my gripe w/accents will be great!

I should be offended but I’m not really, I honestly didn’t notice the accents of the villains in the latest Prince of Persia game.

As for the previous games though, the guy who played him in Warrior Within was actually British.

Don’t understand why people bash this movie. It’s like if one person starts bashing they just want to blindly join the crowd and….well…monkey see monkey do. Pretty dumb if you ask me. I understand hollywood hasn’t made any decent video game films. However, that’s no excuse to just look at a trailer of any video game movie and just automatically write it off as bad. Frankly, I don’t see how anyone could think the movie looks bad according to the trailer at this point. But looking at this it may be the 1st game to movie film that’s good.

The movie looks better than I expected. I can see it becoming of Pirates fame. My only gripe with it is the annoying British accents they used. That’s one reason I found the PS2 games annoying is because it was filled with the worst fake British accents I’ve ever heard. I wish they went along with the recent reboot of PoP on PS3. Where the Prince and Elika spoke in a US accent and the villains spoke in a UK accent.

turn back time to just before the beginning of the game. That’s just weak writing. Suddenly his father is no longer dead and none of it ever happened. I’m glad Two Thrones dealt with that better.

Yeah I remember that too.

I agree, how many times can he turn back time until it becomes repetitive. It is pretty smart they are doing it this way involving all three game stories and I suspect he will use the sands of time at the very end to save the girl or whatever.

Trailer looks awesome, but I still believe Mr. Gyllenhaal is a complete miscast for this role. He does not have the look for this role to me at all, and it seems like with all the make up and hair dye that they stretched too far to get him to fill this role. As a huge fan of the game I hope that they stayed in line with the story. It doesn’t look like they have but they’ve seemed to try to tell it in the same way that the game did. I have high hopes for this movie so I hope it’s good. Let’s hope they get God of War right too.

I think the trailer showed waaaay too much so i’m surely keeping away from other trailers till the movie is actually out. The movie looks like its going to make Transformers movie… Not as much as TF2 but still alot sooooo… Mission Accomplished ?

I thought that as well, I was sure at some point in the trailer he was turning into the Dark Prince.

And the whole “take the dagger to the secret guardian temple” reminded me of the Island of Time in the second game.

I think it would be cool if they start and end the whole Sands of Time thing in the first film and then move on to fresher material for the inevitable sequels. I mean I liked the 3 part storyline of the Sands of Time in the games, but I think it’d be a little repetitive to make a movie trilogy out of it. I mean there’s only so many times you can watch him turn back time a few seconds.

It seems they have incorporated elements from all three of the games. The story from the first obviously, but the costume design from Warrior Within and also the scale weapon from Two Thrones. I also saw Jake’s body turn into the dark prince for a bit.
To go along with Vic, if this is like The Mummy then I will at least be happy because when all is said and done, The Mummy was a really fun movie. Hoping this is at least fun.
