I do really want to see this movie, but I am concerned with the effect its opening is going to have on my most anticipated movie this year: Ratatouille. I don’t know who was in charge of selecting an opening weekend over at Disney, but their timing stinks.

3 days after Live Free or Die Hard, one week before Transformers, and two weeks before Harry Potter?!? Didn’t Disney tend to release their Pixar films closer to the less crowded holiday season?

In any case, I was always relatively open to seeing Transformers (for the nostalgia factor) but as early word seems to be that they did a pretty good job with it, I’m more eager now.

I discovered, after much digging, that a number of theaters in Vancouver would be holding 8PM screenings on Monday. I picked up a few tickets over the weekend and the show was already 70% sold. I haven’t checked but I’m pretty sure I was lucky to get the tickets. Pretty sure they’re all gone now.

this years number two or three mega-buster film, second to only spidey3 and/or harry potter.

It has premiered in Malaysia. My friend watched it just a couple of hours ago.

Now, this is a guy who isn’t into braindead blast-o-rama and heck, he’s not even a fan of most cheeseball good old 80’s action movies.

And he called me up after the movie, with plenty of excitement. His verdict? “Don’t miss it for the world! Go watch it. Twice if you have to. And then get the DVD.. Get the bootleg.. anything!! This is one of the most entertaining, fun and exciting movies that I’ve seen in a long time!”

It’s certainly not thought-provoking, that’s for sure. But the main thing is that it’s fun and fast-paced.

Thanks, Jae. At best that was what I was expecting from it and I have a feeling it will deliver. :-)

There are no spoilers below and i refrained from typing anything that could foil your own experince but defenitly this movie is a great watch, ill just say this movie opens with a narrative and a preaty good one that puts forward the premesis of the movie and major goal for both Autobots and Decepticons.

im in Australia went of to see first session at 10;30 am and i was treated to one of the best and finest movies of this year. (will go to see it again).

its a darn fine movie, just saw it myself im a huge fan of Tranformers anime and the movie is very fine and very far from a let down, OPTIMUS PRIME is awsome leader and in charge and MEGATRON is as ruthless and badass as ever.

The movie could have been an even more awsome experience if more EMPHASIS was faced on the TRANSFORMERS rather then the humans after all its a transformer movie thou they have left plenty of room for seqols.

Was also shown here a few hours ago and it was a BLAST!

2 things to remember: It’s a Bay film, and it’s NOT G1 Transformers (cartoon)

That aside, desite some few annoying scenes, it’s a very good watch. Probably only a stiff Transformers puritan might find the movie bad.

It’ll be huge, yes… but don’t go in expecting a film with that kind of Spielberg-ian charm that will linger into the next generation (much less next season).

When you get past the effects and Shia’s awesome performance, you’re not left with much and, by the end, it becomes unbelievably tedious and headache-inducing.

And you know I loved ‘FF2′!

Hey Vic,
It’s interest that the talkback on aintitcool is imploding on itself over the early reviews of Transformers. Seasoned talkbacker whom started off hating this film have been called ‘PLANTS’ by other seasoned talkbackers whom TOTALLY DETEST this film, because of their strongly positive reviews. Once again, a majority of critics review the film harshly, but the masses(oddly mostly 20-40 yrs of age) have extreme glee over this film.

AICN is NOT a gauge for the general public. Bunch of young angry boneheads frequent the comment area over there that I would ban if they showed up over here.

Not too many reviews in over at Rottentomatoes yet, but so far overall it’s positive.

I get to see it tomorrow and I’m really looking forward to it!

This years number #1 blockbuster EASY, in my oppinion! Hope you like it Vic, believe a 4.5 or 5 out of 5!

Guys, I just saw Transformers.

You are NOT going to like my review. :-\

Not that it will matter, considering the wildly positive audience reaction…
