With Robert Rodriguez producing the forthcoming Predator reboot/sequel/spinoff, all ears and eyes were on who would write and direct the Sci-Fi actioner. Well, don’t worry as we now know that Alex Litvak will be putting pen to paper or whatever that guy uses to write (probably Final Draft, but that’s not important).
Litvak will be rewriting an original script that Rodriguez wrote on spec about 15 years ago, but it was shelved due to budget restrictions and because 20th Century Fox instead wanted to ruin the franchise along with the Alien series with the AVP movies.
But the big question is – who is this Litvak guy?

Well, he’s pretty much an unknown commodity as he’s never had any screenplays produced, although his IMDB page has an an in-development project named Medieval to his credit and he’s listed as producer on Richard Shepard’s Richard Gere/Terrence Howard-starring The Hunting Party.
Oh, and apparently he attended the University of Southern California.
That’s all we know.
He must be good if Rodriguez and Fox have chosen him. Actually strike that – if Rodriguez has chosen him. Fox doesn’t really seem interested in who makes their films as long as they get something in the can. In more ways than one!

“The reboot to the classic 80’s action/horror flick Predator is being penned as a “sequel” and will follow a team of commandoes who face down a mysterious race of vicious monsters.”
So, sort of like Aliens with Predators. You can’t really argue with that!
As for who will call the shots on the film – your guess is as good as mine. I’m going to say that they should give original Predator director John McTiernan a call (that is, if he’s not in prison). He managed to make the original Arnold Schwarzenegger film an 80’s classic which still holds up today.
Predators is being fast-tracked for a July 9, 2010 release. Now that’s a pretty cool birthday present for me!

I’m actually pretty cool with the idea of a new Predator movie as long as it’s not a remake and a sequel. AS long as they don’t get Rattner to direct….
They should get Michael Bay; it’ll have some great action and effects with some stupid humor.

I though Predator 2 with Danny GLover was great..I thought they should have followed the first film back in the 80’s with an Arnold sequel but it never materialized. Wasn’t there a comic or graphic novel with Dutch’s brother leading a team of commandoes in to a battle against a few Predators? Maybe I was dreaming..If it is done properly it will be a great addition to the first two films..I don’t count the first two A VS P movies…

they dont need dwayne”cant act”johnson get a good actor with a good screenplay. why do they need these big buff guys, i men its not like they could beat the predator in a hand to hand fight. I dont think they will ever make a movie better than the first. I would like to see a predator and riddick face off.

Vin Diesel is a better idea than Dwayne Johnson by far.
Like Vin Diesel is a better substitute for Dwayne Johnson..they both can’t act .. and Arnold wasn’t much of an actor either for the first film..very one-dimensional is all his films with the cheesy one-liners..This is not Oscar bait guys it’s a kick-@$$ action movie so Johnson, Diesel, whoever, just make a good action movie..
I agree Greennight333. I myself enjoyed Predator 2. That predator was just as baddass as the first one was. It was too bad Arnold refused to be in it because it took place in L.A. So he chose to film Terminator 2: Judgement Day instead was better because if he did do Predator 2 we would see him take the kind of role Gary Busey had and possibly be killed. I rather enjoyed the AVP films, only that the 2nd film had a terrible cast but had great action in it. Does anyone know if Predators is supposed to be partly sequel/reboot? If so, i hope Arnold has somewhat of a cameo in it talkin about his encounter with the predator. Id like to see John Cena, or maybe dwayne johnson could work out. And can anyone tell me if they’re gonna make another AVP movie, or did they stop?
how could anyone want the rock or vin diesel in this movie?! no man can take on the predator in hand to hand combat are you kidding?! arnold was getting smashed on and hit the predator to where the Predator barely even felt it. it doesnt take a buff guy to shoot a gun or set a trap for a predator. the action stars these days are bad actors. face it. besides i think the rock is gonna be busy with his upcoming “Toothfairy” movie…as for John Cena…he makes Arnold look oscar worthy. thank god hes not touching this.
