Robert Rodriguez is in attendance at this year’s Comic-Con to promote Machete, but he took a moment to address speculation about a sequel to Predators – and offered insight into what fans can expect from a follow-up.
Modestly-budgeted for a summer blockbuster, Predators quickly recouped its expenses and received mostly positive reviews. It should come as no surprise that 20th Century Fox is hungry to repeat that success. The ending of the film certainly hinted at the possibility of further installments and Rodriguez confirms that he’s been approached to get the ball rolling on a sequel.
Apparently Predators was the studio’s way of “testing the market” – and the scope of the film was deliberately modest. Rodriguez spoke with IGN asserting that, with a renewed interest in the franchise, we can expect bigger and better things from a Predators sequel:
“They really wanted it to be pretty contained, pretty scaled-back. They didn’t want to put too many of the ideas into it that we could save for a second one. So we could see what the appetite was, because the bigger movie would actually be what comes following that. That kind of sets up a new storyline, new location and world, and then you can really go crazy from there.”
Rodriguez goes on to say that while he’s got a few of his own ideas for the sequel, he’ll probably bring in other writers to pitch their take – and then choose the approach he likes best.
When asked about the possibility of stepping into the director’s chair for the next installment he brings up one potential obstacle:
“I don’t know… I think I have too many people wanting me to do Sin City 2 first!”

Personally, I only had two major complaints with Predators. The film never tried to flesh-out characters – beyond their one-dimensional archetypes. The second was the previously mentioned restrained scope and style. The alien jungle looked just like Earth’s jungles and, despite the fact that the planet was a game preserve, we never saw any other creatures for the Predators to hunt. While these are relatively minor grievances, expanding on these details could have appeased fans who found Predators to be a little too similar to the original.
That said, it was still an entertaining ride and if it reinvigorated the studio’s faith in the Predator franchise – that’s a win in my book.
What do you think? What would you like to see in a Predators sequel?

3 predators dead, 2 people survived… More than enough camo for the two… Also, Reese saw how to control the ship at the end of the movie…. With ability to read heat signatures and a fresh crew of soldiers, the increased presence of predators arriving since none of the others returned will make for a more even battle…..
I would like to see some female predators (larger than male ones), i’d like to see predators hunting different species, not humans. We’ve already seen it for 20+ years. Also predators should be given the opportunity to have bigger screen time as semi-protagonists or anti-heroes (whatever you like to name it)like in case of Wolf Predator from AVP-R.
So far i’m not completely happy with RR’s Predators, because – the ending sucked, the woman should have died (it made look like a usual family film), the battle between predators was too short, too many nods to the first predator film.
But don’t forget female predators for Christ’s sake.
Another idea:
What about predators capturing the characters from previous movies (Mike Harrigan, Major Dutch) and comic books (Dutch Schaefer) & hunting them on the same planet where they did it to Royce and others. That would make a great sequel imho.
@ Yautja
I agree with ya about Predators being little too much like the original. For a sequel id like to see more of the conflict between two Predator clans while Humans & other species being killed by both. Maybe see a alien specie attack a Predator who after one of the humans in a scene. Maybe see a Predator skull as a trophy? in the Super Predator’s camp, better yet see the Super Predator clean a Classic Predator’s Skull along with a human’s. Unlikly Danny Glover will reprise his role since he talked like he’s done with the franchise. Maybe theres hope that Arnold would though.
ok….each predator movie establishes some new element, and creates unfinished business; predator 1 established that they had been here before when it’s really hot; predator 2 established they had been coming here since at least 1715; avp we learned there was a pyramid for training predator hunters and there was a queen alien kept in this pyramid and this had been going on since the time of the aztec’s; in avp:requim we learn there are elite commando predators; in predators we learn that there are two types of predators one larger one smaller; the smaller don’t hunt you where you are they bring you to their game preserve.
Putting all this together wouldn’t it make sense that somewhere in Japan, China, India or Africa their would be elite ninja like tribes or clans who trained to do nothing but combat the “Predators” for honor and protect their land. Look at the trick war blade used by a remote warrior tribe in africa, and the the metal folding craft work put into making japanese swords and ninja weapons, and China’s Shaolin monk’s training of body and mind. I think bringing all that together in the next storyline would make an interesting “predator sequel to the first two and give room for prequels, and spin-off series for the Arnold “Dutch” character and a follow up series for “Predators 2″. Each option allowing you to deliver a richer, more entertaining product. (yes I have a plot concept)
Just my thoughts.
I like your concept.
The only issue that I have is. Don’t change what we already know about the predators. For example. There is no superior predator. No one large group of predators and no pigmy group of predators. Apparently in RR Preators, all of their wristbands are on the same frequency. which wasnt good. Keep ot simple but do something different. follow some of the novels that were made in the darkhorse comics. Show other life forms they have captured, show female predators, show very old predators as well as very young predators.
@ Berserker
They’ve shown very old predators in Predator 2 & AVP if you count that film within the same universe as a spin-off sequel which imo i see AVP films as, not direct sequels. I agree with ya about how new alien species should be shown being hunted by Predators, maybe even seen attacking the humans aswell. In Predator 2 besides the Alien skull, we seen a big mean lookin alien skull which to me looked like a T-Rex. Among other big skulls in that trophy case. I think it would great not only to see not only have to have humans fight off Predators but other species aswell.I havn’t read the dark horse comics so i can’t imagine what female Predators would be like. I just hope the sequel be as similiar to the original as Predators as i thought it seemed it had little bit too much referances to Predator.
Its been too long to capture Arnold and danny Glover’s character unless you put them in a movie like Avatar where their age hasnt caught up with them. Show them capturing a queen alien and losing members of their clan. Show rebellious young predators being disciplined for daring to challenge an elder predator, or a story about Machiko Noguchi on the planet Bunda, in the midst of a Predator raid, rescuing human survivors. There are many ideas out there that are good. Show me something different as well as good.
just wanted to say “thank you”….and I remember all those alien vs predator comics, I own several… the one where the predator training exercise goes wrong and the lady in charge ends up becoming a hunter was awesome and it kind of put me off on the first AVP when the used a tiny snip of the comic book plot and just kind of left it hanging there.
I also remember, In the original movie “Alien” there were some parts they had to leave out. There was suppose to be a picture of a pyramid in the background on a wall or something depicting the “Alien” creature in glyphs and telling a story, but the budget didn’t allow for it. Again why AVP put me off, like they kinda cobbled a couple of plots together, some parts at the last possible minute.
I was definitely thinking along those same lines for the introduction of new species, and female predators…..would they be like galactic amazon’s in the worst way?? Or just the fact that their are two types of predators waring against each other; I have to ask the question who else are they waring against ? I guess the better question would be who else in the galaxy would be waring against them that they would require all this hunter warrior training all the time ? anyway, just my thoughts…
For the sequel to “predators” they absolutely have to delve more into the fact that there are 2 different classes of predators. Putting comics aside, and keeping the sequel in the same universe as the original predator and the new predator film,(since there is a direct tie in with the two. noting the debriefing report being brought up in this film.) the sequel cant be too over the top, or too shallow.
The formula of, Predator > human, has to change in some form; although that’s much easier said than done. Since the film is now taking place on a new planet it would be easy to throw in another species that isn’t “over the top” or undermined. As many of you have noticed that in this film the upper class predator is predominant over the lesser; we know for a fact that the lesser class has a code of honor, and on the contrasting side we know less about the upper class.
*Note* That in the previous films the predators characteristics are the same throughout, but in this film you get a glimpse near the end that there are noticeable differences (facial features and if you take a closer look at their armor/tech).
My idea for the sequel would entertain the idea of upper class vs lower + humans; using an unspoken alliance between the humans and the for-mentioned. How strong or how weak (refer to the first AVP movie), that alliance could be adjustable to fit the need, with the main goal of getting off the new planet. I’m basing my idea around the “not to big, yet not to small” method.
Any other thoughts or ideas?
The problem with these new Predator movies, is that all of us critics appear to know more about the Predators that the fools making the films.
The films need to be different, they need to show us something we havent seen before. Predator 2 was different than Predator 1. They showed us more, different weapons, an elder, a trophy case, a reward for killing one of their own. Predators was more like the 1st one with a lot of missing parts. The fall down the hillside into the water, the one-on one battle. Too many things that did not add up. fOR EXAMPLE; 2 diferent predators activating the same ship. Why didnt he call for help or back up since he was outnumbered. More of the creatures that were in the boxes. Fishburne’s role that wasnt needed. how Cuchillo was killed, how they surveyed the group, mainly the doctor, he truly didnt belong.
Now they bring in a renegade group of predators who hunt other predators, too. Everything that tells us about predators would tell us that those group of predators are outcasts and would have been hunted down and killed. Hard to believe that a species who “lives for the hunt” would subject themselves to a game of cat and mouse. SHOW ME SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Female predators, child predators going through the painful ritual of getting their dreadlocks, the transformation of a male predator turning female for their reproduction phase according to one novel. them hunting/capturing a queen alien, a bigger more dangerous alien life form. Just go away from what we already know and seen in previous films.
Oh and yes they have to go over the top. they have to do more to keep our attention. An alien species with a sense of ethics. what they will and wont kill. How about a flash to the beginning when they come across the alien species who gave them their technology. Someone had to give it to them. Or a rebellious recruit disrespecting an elder, like a young soldier tries a sargent. Just something different. I disagree with an upper class or lower class, if thats the case you might as well have differences like, lions, tigers, cheetahs and leapards
As for a sequel, I think the best approach would be from 5-10 years into the future. Royce surviving and becoming detached sort of like Fishburn’s character. The Predators all but forget about him, begin to drop new prey. But this time, they send in a seasoned veteran predator who knows that Royce survived and makes it his personal mission to find and claim his trophy. Or something along those lines, i think whatever Rodriguez comes up with will be amazing anyway
Also, another angle they can take would be, put in another alien species that we’ve never seen. Bigger. Faster. Stronger than the predators, but also, humanoid in shape. An Alien species that hates the predators. Make a ship crash land there with one alive. Then the predators, while still dropping in prey, have a new enemy to think about, but this time, it’s hunting them. They can also throw Royce still alive, withdrawn and hidden back into the mix as well as your usual soon-to-die scum as well.
The Predators seem to be a combination of spider, crab, komodo dragon and wolf or something like that ? So seeing them turn into females……just sounds painful. I don’t think I could watch the rest of the movie if they did that. Anyway they eat meat we know from p2 so I would imagine that they do have actual females born that way. Maybe they have some sort of Queen master hive system, or sub-monarchy system. But if they hunt, to me it points to some type of family unit type structure. Maybe they have pods, tribes or harems even (3 females to every predator).
At this point I could totally see Royce becoming a forgotten Fishbure type character and them sending in a cleaner, bounty hunter type to get him. Meanwhile hunting goes on business as usual, as a twist I could also see that other humanoid enemy crashing on the planet, trying to steal parts from other damage crafts to repair and get gone quick.
I say he wouldn’t just be humanoid, I’m thinking he would be human like but with only a slight difference in appearance maybe eye color, and he would look a little pail and frail. This would mask some real trick abilities, like shape shifting, invisibility, thermal masking, things that would explain the predators basic weapons set.
Maybe they have been consistently evolving, genetically because of the predators hunting them. This would explain the predators involvement in earth’s past, they have been trying to find a way to take advantage of our evolving, but it failed they only managed to dumb down our ability to evolve. We multiplied, so they just added us to the hunted species list, just like our for fathers the trick humanoids that now hunt and destroy the predators at will, when they encounter each other. I could handle getting to see see some cool humanoid tech for predator hunting……but that’s just my thoughts
@ taokaj
In your last post, i dont know. But it seems to me some of things mentioned would be too similiar in Alien franchise. In Predator 2, in the trophy case scene i wonder how leathal the species of that T-Rex skull lookin alien would of been like against a Predator for a sequel. If you guys know which skull im refering to. Id like to see that species perhaps be shown. I bet would be a nasy alien for both the humans & Predators to tackle for a good scene or two. Plus, as i said before id like to see the super predators clean a classic predator’s skull along with a human/humans or a different alien. It would be a big bonus if they not only got Arnold back, but Danny Glover aswell for a minor role to which maybe he’s one survial from the franchise that gets killed off.
You know from what I have read in this forum in the last few weeks; yautja, vdizzle, walt, wallywest, berseker, etc., myself included, We should be collaborating and writing our own Predator franchises or some kind of Alien encounter franchise…….. I don’t think we could due any worse…lol. I have truly enjoyed the idea and concept exchanges here. Thanks, Just my thoughts.
I should add that it’s good to know that their are still sci-fi fans out there that actually read and still imagine.
What else are we going to do. focus on Politics, watch football. Go Predators/Yuatjas
@ taokaj
At one time i did think about writing/directing films because i came up with ideas people told me they liked. Only thing is id hate to move out to California, id rather stay & work from home & send them my drafts. Lol, another thing is i think id be too, not sure whats the best word is but let’s just say if i was to start a new Batman reboot, or Superman or some of hero for the studio id want as much freedom to make the film as accurate as i can based off certain comics perhaps. Id also look at fanbases as much as i can to get ideas & see what ideas people would have that would make the film work great because i believe the audience is the best idea generators. Thats just me.
What ever the case, there has to be a human element in the film. the one thing that should be considered is that the Predators with all of their killing weapons and gadgets are a very intellectual race of beings. Lets say when they were first discovered they might have been savage in nature, but then were taught and given certain tools to better their society. with evolution comes progression, so better equipment and tools to do their killing. Meanwhile, the one thing that the’ve always possessed has been a sense of pride and honor(kill or be killed trying). In saying that, they have no major need, their planet isnt dying, their species isnt endangered, their not over populated, all they have is the hunt and they are measured by what they hunt and kill. we know they like hunting humans, because at times we can put up a very good fight, so make a film where unlike the predators coming to earth to save humans from the aliens or any other alien threat, the humans come to the rescue of the predators, and save their reptilian, scaly hide. that would piss them off more than anything sense, they would rather be kiilled n battle then to be saved from certain death by a lesser species. That would really jack up their sense of honor and pride and when word got out to other predator clans that this specific clan was rescued by a bunch of humans, the ridicule would throw a twist in what we have seen so far. Sorry for the lengt, trying to kill time at work.
I think I’ve got a decent idea…comments? I totally DIS-agree with the “there must be strong a human element” thing. Humans are the hunted, I want to know the story of the hunters.
My idea is to tell the whole entire story from the Predators viewpoint. Their planet, their training, the hunt (of TONS of new creatures), show a Predator coming of age. What is the context of the “Predator War?” Mix in the characters from the first one, being hunted FROM THE HUNTERS VIEWPOINT.
We’ve seen the quickshots of the “Predator-view” in every movie. NOW, do a WHOLE movie from the prespective of the Predator (not infrared whole time obviously.) Then, your quickshots are from the “Human-view” as they are being hunted. I just think it would be so badass to show the Predators perspective THE WHOLE MOVIE.
I think this director could pull of telling a story without tons of English dialogue. Just a stunning visual story, turn-up the creature content (like minimum 4-5 other hunts) and have the humans intertwined. Totally flip the script and make the Predators the MAIN characters.
That’s the movie I want to see…anyone else?
THAT’s what I want to see! The development of a young Predator.
predators vs predators is what we want see clans vs clans not humans killing predators that wouldnt really happen aliens in the movie would help to but only elite aliens not scrubs and humans being in the middle of this would be cool helping a predator kill an enemy thinking hes gonna side with an original pred because he saved him then getting his spine ripped off for being there that would be awsome and no human survivers at the end of the movies its getting old now end it with predators because thats what we came to see predators win not lose
I hope the sequel will be better. Predators was good, but wasn’t that great i thought. Alot of referances to the original instead on being its own thing.
Just saw the movie today. My thoughts:
Their planet, assuming that was their planet, was pretty low-tech.
If the Predators really wanted a challenge out of the humans, why not leave some heavy artillery lying around?
That Yakuza guy should have survived. He killed a Predator, on his won, with a freaking Katana blade! Not only that, but the guy was missing two fingers before the fight even started!!! I ask you, is that not badass?
They need a new screenwriter if they are going to do a sequel. The dialogue for this movie was partially what made the characters so 1-D; too much shop talk from the mercs, and not enough personality, humor or emotion.
A baby predator
A baby predator.
All those ideas for female predators and that kind of stuff is rubbish to me. When i first saw the first predator i was horrified and especially amazed by his technology and his hunting skills. Predator is a more sci-fi horror movie, which many people forget. No plots like an young warrior getting rebellish on the elders. They have their pride, and rituals and they live on those guide lines.
A good plot for me would be far back in the past with the first encounter with humans. Or far in the future where a predator kills a entire colony on a other planet and a rescue team has been sent and doesn’t know what to expect. No new kind of predators, just the old ones, who adjust their hunting skills by experience. New kind of weapons and hunting tricks.
Also a good plot for avsp for me would be, somewhere in space. A ship is transporting a predator as prisoner for medical tests and information. Then the ship has to make an emergency crash landing at an old kolony, what has been totally wiped out by aliens. Arrived at the kolony the humans discover that the aliens are there and their survival depends totally on their own strength, for the aliens hunting them and a very angered and unleashed predator hunter who escaped after the crash landing. Also all his hi-tech stuff that were on board of the ship has been reclaimed by him.
The plots i made up holds the sci-fi horror genre, and gives back the being hunted feeling. However this is just my sight. Don’t know what the rest thinks of it?
Greets
The predator is real!!!!!!
lots of great ideas on this page regarding this, i think that the writers of the next movie should definitely (and im sure they do) look into what the fans think of it. personally, i think that any movie with a predator in it is worth watching, even the less than great avp movies were worth going to the theater to see, and predators id have to say did a great job of bringing the excitement and suspense back that the first film had. i liked the idea of what a previous poster said about the predators and their place in history, but i dont know if it would make more than a few good scenes, not a whole movie. what about a movie placed in the near future (like predator 2 tried to do), where our weapons are just a bit more advanced, and obviously, now we are aware of their presence on earth (at least the gov knows a decent amount about them now). still kinda sounds like predator 2, but it could have been done in a much better way. the jungle thing worked so well but it might be overdone now. what about the desert? maybe a middle east thing, in the midst of all this war going on currently, that a predator comes in and hunts off soldiers during a battle in afghanistan or iraq or something, could have our military and gov thinking that they are facing new tech being used from say russia or something, causing all kinds of weird stuff bringing in a special team to deal with it. i dont know…. tons of ideas available. i also liked the ideas about them hunting other species, but they kinda did that with AVP already and i think it would be kinda silly to do the same thing again.
…what about bringing the fight to the Predator’s planet?!
I would like to see the surviving cast members, pull the next castaway’s out of harm’s way,and build a relationship with them trying to survive the hunt.
I’m sure predators have family ?… and to me seeing the family member or even the ( brother ) of berserker (since they lost contact with the predators on that planet.) picking up the berserker mask and put it on his face to view the video stored in the mask of his brothers death!
then wanting revenge!
looking at the audience, with that i just ripped your skull and spine out scream, he’s now out for revenge.
he really needs to wear that berserker mask ( it’s a really cool mask, i would like to see more of it.
@ tom
I dunno about that. I don’t think it would really appeal to genral audiences or fans that much because i recall somthing similiar like that in AVP-R in the beginning how angry they get when they see or seen one of their own gets killed. And there was that scene where the Wolf mourned predator that sent out the distress beacon. We could two clans of 3 land & maybe one gets killed while another gets captured alive by the Super Predators & the last one goes after them & vice versa while more humans have dropped and caught in the middle being hunted by the Super Predators as seen in the first film.
ok so here we go… I think the next film should go into the direction of honor or disgrace. In this direction we would see alot more of Predator society. We will see a little of rituals, training, tribal meetings, and mothers and their children. I would like to see two groups of predators. 1 would be old way traditional Predators. The predators that would not hunt unarmed no-sprot types. Then 2, I would like to see the second group as idealist that want progression, a group that looks passed just the hunt.
You can’t have a predator movie without having humans involved. Enter Yutani… They do have a piece of predator tech. So once you get thirty minute glimpse of Predator life. You will see heavy development and testing at a secret Yutani base. Yutani developed a ship that could travel the distance to the Predator home world. (find a way to get there) . Also weapons, armor, navigation, and communication development would be made. Yutani will train elite soilders from across the globe to have the sole mission of traveling to predator world, to observe and report. (to find new elements, tech, and fossil fuels)
Back to predators…
Big tribal meeting… problem on Predator home world. A global crysis has struck. Predator homeworld is billions of years old and an inevitable distruction of the planet will occur in years.
Traditional Predators will except their fate, but the idealist want to invade Earth to claim it as their own for the survival of the species.
I want to see the tribal meeting! subtitle it and make it sound how they interogated the alien on the movie district 9! It would work…
Seperation of the two groups….
I don’t think earth should be invaded, so the Stars of the story will be the traditional Predators and humans to stop the idealist.
Feel free to add on to this… I ran this piece of work by my wife who is not a big fan and she said she would love to see that. (she’s brutally honest about things) ran it by friends and they thought it would kick @$$.
Let me know what you think. ©
Wish I read this before posting my comment lol
Love everything, I really wanna see a Predator culture, might be kinda boring to some people, but they’ve hinted at a really developed system for the Predators but haven’t really told us much else
Not sure about subtitles though, kind wanna keep it where the Predator’s themselves still have their mystery and that way we’ll never know too much
I wanted to add subtitles to wrap up the series and use it only during tribal meeting. I wish the series can continue but it will sooner or later end. If that’s the case reveal enough of that mystery to hold us over till someone decides to fund another sequel. You can only go so far with this series before it just becomes rehash of the same ole’ thing. Think big end it with a bang!
Okay, first off let’s be glad they didn’t choose to allow any Aliens on the set, b/c they should focus more of the Predator franchise rather than AVP. And they already kind of hinted at the blood feud between the “Dog” Predators and “Wolf” Predators maybe expand on that. A Cameo w/ Arnold would be amazing, not sure how he’s fit back into the story line. A sequel has to happen, the cliffhanger ending has viewers wanting more, plus they is so much you can do with it now. Yeah it was similar to the original, but it was so new comers to the franchise got a feel for it. If anything, I would really wanna know more about the Predators, outside of that weird God thing from AVP and that they don’t like killing Prego’s and sick guys we don’t know much about them. Idk I’ve had this idea fora scene where they find like a Predator Colosseum and They’ve kept Dutch as their sort of “Gladiator” for a while. That would be cooooool…
I think that Ducth or harrigan’s character at this point is irrelevant. too much time has gone by. Unless those two characters will either act as a liaison on Predator matters. Since both are too old to be effective in the movies, a versions played by younger actors. When it comes to the Predators, there are certain things we think us fans wold like to see;
1. Newer weapons
2. Newer Predator tactics
3. New Aliens or methods of killing.
Since the death of Kevin Peter Hall (Predator 1&2, Harry and the Hendersons) the predators of late havent been as imposing, yes, KPH was actually 7 feet tall, he knew how to be effective in that suit. The skinny anorexic predators didnt do it for me.
and Everyone wants Arnold back, for what I ask, he did get his butt kicked when the predator caught up with him. And dont think for a minute that I want Danny Glover reprising his role, an old cop with a trick knee, can beat the predator but an elite commander of special forces can’t, yeah ok. BRing i the Rock, Vin Diesel and that lame fool from Clash of the Titans and we’ll go from there.
I thought of Vin for a part since he’s just so imposing.
Unfortunately there wont ever be another KPH :\
True and I dont think Shaquille O’neal would work in a predator suit
He’s the right body type, but could never get into character like the others
They should bring back all characters that survived the older predator movies.. Arnie, Glover, the surviving characters from AvP aswell.. would be awsome!!
@Kris- I agree with that, if they had done it By 1995, now it is definietly too late, Glover is in no way kind of shape to deal with a predator on screen, he wasnt back then, and arnie, i doubt wants to get his A$$ kicked again. We forget arnold had his butt kicked in that movie, which is why I didnt like Predator 2. With the Predator, to keep our interest, they have to show us something different. Not the same ole same ole. Not trying to sound like a biggot, but keep women off the battlefield. they have no place in battle with a predator unless they do a story on Machiko Noguchi, in which I say go for it, only if they use that Asian chick from the “Descent”, Juno(Natalie Mendoza). Meanwhile, bring in the Dwayne Johnson or Vin Diesel or John Cena to get their butts kicked.
I wouldn’t mind having the survivors of the previous Predator films in a sequel, especially if they were beamed on the training reserve planet by the Super Predators.
But Berserker has valid points. Not only does Danny Glover wants nothin to do with any more Predator films, but with his age i don’t see him being much use unless he gives his life in a great scene. Arnold has a better chance imo if his character is informed enough By Brody’s character especially because he would what he’s up against. Yes Dutch wasn’t a match against a Predator as no human is without no weapons. Dutch beat the Predator with using his head, & little bit of luck takin hits from the predator. I didn’t mind a woman amongst the others only i thought the character would be little more tougher. But that could be improved in a sequel as the character spent more time on the planet. Id like to see Michelle Rodriguez aslong as she doesn’t get killed in the film. I would go with John Cena but not Dwayne Johnson. I actually liked Predator 2. Not as much as the first film but i liked it because they tried to do somthing different & described the Predator as young rogue out to make a name for itself. The Predator franchise is like Friday the 13th franchise to me, how many sequels can you make great in the jungle as you can make a slasher film at camp Crystal Lake? I give Stephen Hopkins little credit for trying because after Predator 2 back then, they could always went back to a jungle. That’s just my opinion.
I personally would like to see a planet that we had colonized in the future, now under atack by a hostile alien race. Who learned were are home planet is , now on a mission to reach our planet to wipe us from existents!
And our only hope to survive is reach out to the predator race for help, at the same time giving them something new to hunt….
@Tom- I thought something like that too, but flip the script, and make it the predators are caught off guard and are attacked by an alien race wan their only hope are colonial marines/or space cadets that just happened to be in the area, and the predators are forced with a dilemma of being slaughtered, (man, woman and child) or being saved by lesser biengs
Good story scenario. How about, a team while hunting a predator, notices signs of another, different alien. He turns out to be small, but is in fact an interstellar enforcement agent tasked with capturing the predator and delivering him to justice. This little alien cop is aided by surviving members of the Earth team. We finally end up with a ship!
After AVP-R, i always thought if it would be good if somehow humans on a ship ended up stranded on the Predator’s homeworld. Not only that but maybe Facehuggers in tubes are kept in storage on the planet for other times the Predators would use them on earth but lead the human’s ship there in the first place to have numerous hosts for Facehuggers when they transport both another planet to use instead of Earth after the events from the previous film.
@WallyWest- The thing about the connection between the Xenos and Predators are that the Predators would use them to sorta bring the youngblooded Predator into fullblooeded. The only way humans would be used in that reference would be to make more xenos. Predators would probably use the facehuggers on an enemy they feared or greater than them. Since theyre not an evil race, they wouldnt use them in that sense. I personally think they should use the next predator, Alien and AVP movies in the Avatar format, that way it wouldnt be hard to come up with different variations of aliens the predators have killed or even different variations of Xeno’s, really tired of seeing the same ole xenos. Show me a Xeno with horns or wings or just a different looking xeno
@ Berserker
I forgot to add earier to my comment that somthing goes wrong when humans lookin for comrades on a Predator ship while the Facehuggers are being loaded on that, they get chased after back into the jungle parts but not before the Facehugger’s cannisters get blasted open in the chaos. Before both humans & Predators themselves know it they have Xenos running in the jungle after both. It also wouldn’t apply the younger Predators proven themselves because again things go wrong & of-course they’re not Earth for their ritual.
I personally would like to see more of the classic predators & more character development
I agree, but they folks need to use thei imagination and show us new alien species, that the predators hunt and are hunted by
Classic Predators and character development? No. Just no. Sure, I don’t mind them developing characters – but I am so, SO tired these types of movies lets the aliens and predators take a seatback to the human characters. I want the universe to be expanded, personally. The addition of the super predators and the predator dogs in the last movie was simply genius to me. Also loved those beasts in the cages, but… I never understood what they where, and wished they could’ve explained that a little further; it felt like a McGuffin cameo.
I want to learn more about the alien and predator races. I want to see more of their society. Hell, AvP:R actually could show us the predators’ homeplanet for a short moment. Sure, we all know the AvP movies sucks – especially Requiem – but they could at least show us a homeplanet of the creatures. And yeah, I also hope they could give us more hints about the xenomorph (alien) race. I thought it was brilliant with the wonderful and nice little touches in Predators, like the man with the chest opened – obviously by a chestburster, or like the xenomorph jaw on the leader super yautja (predator). It might be to hope for too much – but I wanna see the xenomorph race as well. People might not think so by now – but you CAN make an AvP movie work. Just don’t give the directing to a moron like Paul W.S. Anderson, or those two idiots who haven’t worked on directing before AT ALL – but only on visual effects. It’s kinda ironic too those directors claimed to be fans of both the franchises, when they literally raped everything they stood for. At least the director of Predators is a genius… IMO.
@ Viktor
I agree about the Super Predators & dogs even though imo the Super Predators didn’t look bigger than the classic one. The way the fight ended between Beserker & Classic predator just seemed like Berserker got lucky or the Classic got sloppy. The beasts in the cages were another species for Predators to hunt. It was also the original design of Predator costume for the original film that JCVD wore before they changed it. AVP-R did show the Predator’s homeworld, & other worlds in it’s orbit if you looked closely at the sky before we see the Wolf Predator in it’s chair. I actually liked the first AVP, AVP-R not so much. It’s cast was bad among other things. Like James Cameron mentioned & i too believe AVP would be the 3rd best Alien film. I say that because i didn’t like Alien 3 or Alien Resurrection. I think the dead soldier found i believe was shot to death by the predators. Paul W.S.Anderson mentioned his film was intended to be it’s own thing, so it wouldn’t prevent more Predator & Alien films from being made. Imo RR didn’t have to bother wanting his film to ignore the AVP films since nothin of their events is mentioned in the film just as Predator 2′s events arent. That’s my opinion anyways since i thought AVP was good, AVP-R needed a re-write w/ better cast, etc.
I think they can take stuff from AVP and AVP-R… Maybe showing humans using left behind tech. And flashbacks on how the predators developed facehuggers back in the day… Bring in new ideas the ‘predator Wolfpack’ in a somewhat distant future with humans coloniezing the new worlds the the predators had used before for other hunting… The colony build could be lead by the wetland Corp. Give those alien guys a bone!!! LOL
I loved Preditors but not so fond of Preditor 2. I would like to see more of the last two chatacters Royce and Isabel with more new characters who have built some sort of living colony with supplies being shipped down . I also miss the original preditor not to keen on new versions but you have to change things to make it better, but would also like to see more of different aliens being taken in and seeing how the Preditors get on with them and not just humans like in AVP it was amazing to
