BUT ‘reboots’ tend to go back to the source material and create something more in the sense of the original’s original … and by that I mean BOOKS.

A ‘remake’ normally changes hardly anything. Best (worst) example … PSYCHO.

I think we could settle on ‘reboots’ being ‘remakes’ done right.

And concerning the Predator … as long as they don’t change the appearance of the Predator, it completely doesn’t matter what they do. The new film can always be seen as a sequel.

But personally, I don’t need a new Predator right now.
What I need is an Aliens vs Predator done RIGHT.
In space. Without humans.

The first Predator flick was very well received, but since then, Predator never made a massive hit on screen again. Predator 2 got negative reviews and 14 years later, Predator came back to the big screen with AVP and Requiem, which was bashed by fans and critics. Predator needs a fresh start and bringing Robert Rodriquez into the mix is more than positive news.

LOL! You’re right. Normally a Predator wouldn’t even stoop so low as to hunt those people. They sure couldn’t compare to Arnold, Carl Weathers, and Jesse “I ain’t got time to bleed” Ventura. Where’s the challenge? It’s like hunting with dynamite.

And really? Being tracked through the city? THAT city? Who isn’t already being tracked there? It’s like hunters going to the zoo and bagging trapped animals.

I remember when they showed the (somewhat pilot) movie on British TV for the first time. Rather late at night (10.30pm or something) as far as I remember. I had missed the trailer/teaser and had NO idea what was coming there! And then it kept getting better and better!

Alas, still no release on DVD.

It’s simply fascinating how he can turn the smartest, most thought out concept into a piece of hollow crap.
I stand in awe of his work. In the most negative way possible.
