Preacher's season 2 San Diego Comic-Con trailer introduces Herr Starr. The show's Hall H entrance paid tribute to the city where most of the second season was filmed, New Orleans. Before the main cast, along with Seth Rogen hit the stage, a brass band marched out and played "When The Saints Go Marching In." Rogen opened the panel by telling fans that bringing Preacher to the small screen is one of his dreams realized.

During their Hall H appearance, the cast revealed some insight into where their characters are moving into the rest of this second season. There's been tension between Tulip (Ruth Negga) and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), especially given all the secrets that they're keeping from Jesse (Dominic Cooper), and it looks like it will all come to a head sooner rather than later. While the tone of show got a bit darker after Jesse's outrage over learning the truth about Tulip and Viktor, Cooper promised fans would see more of the part of Jesse that hasn't come to light.

At Comic-Con, AMC's Chris Hardwick dropped a new trailer that explores the second half of the season, and wow was there a lot to digest. It was announced before the season aired that the main villain would be Herr Starr (Pip Torrens), but until the trailer, fans had never actually heard the man speak. His comic background paints him to be a murderous and socially awkward sexual deviant and we get a glimpse that is both disturbing and hilarious. With an introduction that has been teased since the first season, executive producer Seth Rogen told Hall H that he believed Herr Starr is "one of the most bad ass men on the planet."

In the trailer, it appears that the story about Eugene Root (Ian Colletti) and Hitler (Noah Tyler) will finally be making some progress from its slow burn early in the season. The connection of the Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish) having gone missing is addressed when some minions from hell find him on his journey to kill Jesse Custer. In addition to a showdown with Jesse, there may even be a confrontation with the devil himself. It makes sense that Satan may turn up in any search for God.

With a stacked second half, there's still a great deal of story to be told. The new footage insinuates that Jesse knows where to find God and that he just might consider taking Starr up on his offer to "save the world." The introduction of The Grail, which includes Herr Starr, Featherstone (Julie Ann Emery), and Hoover (Malcolm Barrett) adds new depth to the epic road trip that the main characters have embarked upon.
