New Posters For ‘Wolverine’, ‘Up’ And ‘State Of Play’

Today we have a batch of new posters for your viewing pleasure for the upcoming movies X-Men Origins: Wolverine, State of Play and Disney Pixar’s Up.

To start, we have the French one-sheet for X-Men Origins: Wolverine which depicts Hugh Jackman as the fierce mutant re-enacting a scene from The Sound of Music (with his claws out mind you). Following that is the very generic poster for State of Play which lets us see the faces of its lead actors. And last but not least, three new posters for Up, each featuring one of the lead characters.

Out of the Up posters, take notice of the one with the dog called Mudds (voiced by Christopher Plummer) and look how real the dog looks from the collar down – it looks like a photo of a real canine.

Pixar’s posters, while simple, can afford to be that way based on the reputation they’ve earned and the quality of their movies that moviegoers have come to expect – I’m looking forward to seeing this one.

There’s nothing really special or amazing about these in my opinion, but you can’t go wrong with a little Wolverine yelling at the clouds.

Wow, the claws on the Wolverine poster look horribly fake. I know they are fake, but it looks like they were added hastily without regard for lighting sources.

The dog on the UP poster does look very photo-real.

Ya, those claws have been bugging me for a bit now - the ones that came out at the end of the last 60-second clip look poorly CGIed and some of the blades I've seen from other pictures look terrible too.

I don't know why it looks so cheap, I can't remember this problem during the first 3 Wolverine...err.. X-Men films.

Just a few notes. Have you noticed that in the up coming Wolverine movie that Wolverine doesnt have the signature hair style that he had the the other X-Men movies. Its not made out to look like they are making up for Hugh not wearing the mask.

That and comingsoon.net just put up the same poster with another picture added. Its of Wolverine with his claws out he is holding Sabretooth's arm. Well on the bottom right of the picture it says Stark Industries. WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THAT? Link Provided

On the poster, I believe, it is to make them a focal point of the poster, especially since everything else about the poster draws the viewers eye to the top right. It is a sort of "grounding of the eyes." And judging by the reaction i guess they got what I think the wanted.
Overall, there's no denying there are some serious Ginsu's in that poster.
Overdone ... possibly. Do I understand ... yes.

Also ... that is a pretty classic Wolverine pose from the comics.

I'll definitely be seeing State of Play. It was filmed - literally - in my backyard. (http://washwords.com/words/2009/starring-wash-e...). I also got a salute and a "hey" from the elusive Russell Crowe, right before he stepped into his Escalade. Smooth.

The Wolverine poster in it's entirety is awful. There's no reflected light, the arms are horribly CGed over, and the pose lacks any actual anger.

It looks more like he's trying to catch rain on his tongue.

That Stark Industries logo you are referring to is just the watermark for that website where the pic originated from (StarkIndustries.ru).

I find the Wolverine poster extremely boring and the Up posters very generic and typical for the genre..I have never heard of STate of Play though ..were was I for the information on this movie? It's not like I shouldn't have seen something on this film before..

INK, If I had felt like being really cruel, I would have said "French men? Isn't that an oxymoron?" But something tells me that would have gotten me banned, but come on, it would have been kind of funny as long as you weren't French. LOL.

All jokes aside, as much as I disagree with their current politics, the French is a very important member of the world and have helped shape the world into what it is today, including helping America win its independence.

And French women are pretty cute... :-D

Considering Hugh Jackman's 6'4" I'm assuming Wolverine is big everywhere(only supposed to be 5'3", but Hugh does a good job, so let's not dwell) Um, so anyone else less concerned about crappy posters and flipping out over the lack of Deadpool images? That is my primary reason for seeing this film. That, and I've actually learned to gaze in terrified wonder at how much Fox can mess up established characters.

2 possibilities IMO

1. The don't want to spoil the character by revealing too much.
2. (And most likely) The screwed it up by having blades come out of his wrists so they don't want to alienate the Deadpool fanboy's before the release of the movie.

Just my 2 cents.

Well, I'm glad they were considerate enough of the fans to not screw the character up for us before the movie with the blades in the hands. I'm so glad they really think about our well being over there at Fox.

Well, I'm sure we're going to hear D-E-D-P-O-O-L throw a tantrum after the release of this movie... And probably for good reason, lol. I am lucky to not have had too much interest in X-Men before, so I might not know how wrong it might be, but from the screen caps so far, even without caring about how well it sticks to the source material, the movie looks kind of cheesey... Some of the promotional pictures that have come out look very cheaply done...
