[Update: We’ve added the remaining 2 ‘9’ posters to complete the set]
We posted up the posters numbered 7 and 8 for the upcoming adventure, titled 9, by Shane Acker (based on his Academy nominated short of the same name) earlier this weekend and now we have the rest of them to finish the series: posters numbered 1-6 and 9. In addition to that, we also have the newest poster from G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra which features Rachel Nichols as Scarlett
We’ll start with the animated adventure, 9. The voice cast for the film includes the talent of Christopher Plummer, Martin Landau, Crispin Glover, Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly and Elijah Wood as the protagonist, number 9 himself.
The posters for this movie that we’ve seen so far look pretty amazing and I love how each character and their respective role get to be featured in their own one-sheets. In order, here they are:
Christopher Plummer as 1
1 is the oldest of the dolls and their self-proclaimed leader. He is clever and sly, but also domineering, irritable, quick-tempered, and slow, if not unwilling, to trust 9.
Martin Landau as 2 [Click to Enlarge]
2 is a kind, delicate old inventor who walks with a cane and sees with a lorgnette. He’ fascinated by garbage, and loves to explore the wastelands, looking for parts for his many inventions.
The twins, 3 and 4
3 and 4 are curious but shy twin dolls who are unable to speak. They communicate with flickering lights, but when they need to explain things to someone else, their eyes turn into film projectors. They instinctively run and hide at the sight of danger.
John C. Reilly as 5 [Click to Enlarge]
5 is a healer, tutor, and skilled mechanic. He helps 2 with his inventions and is a diligent worker, a meek spirit, and a devoted friend. Note his missing eye which he presumably lost in a previous monster attack.
Crispin Glover as 6 [Click to Enlarge]
6 is a wild and impulsive artist (not a strange role for Glover). His character has visions of the past and future and he channels them through drawings which help interpret them.
Here are posters for 7 and 8 which Screen Rant writer Kofi wrote about the other day [Click to Enlarge them]:
7 and 8 are voiced by Jennifer Connelly and Fred Tatasciore respectively and they represent to two warrior combatants of the group. As Kofi says, they’ll likely be some of the fan-favorites.
Elijah Wood as the lead, 9
Elijah Wood’s 9 is the main character who we’ll be sharing the adventure with on screen. He’s Good-hearted, thoughtful, and sincere, and always willing to risk his life to save others. 9 is new to the group of dolls but displays leadership qualities that can help the others survive. He seeks truth in the history of the world and the dolls, and wishes to know the meaning of life.
Rachel Nichols as Shana ‘Scarlett’ O’Hara [Click to Enlarge]
What do you think of these posters of Scarlett and the Stitch-Punks?
If the 9 posters interest you, definitely check the source links at the bottom as many of the blogs feature concept artwork of a lot of the cool stuff we’ll be seeing in the movie. Also, to round off the set, don’t forget to check out the posters of 7 and 8 [Update: We’ve added them here].
9 opens September 9, 2009 (note the date: 9-9-09) and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra opens August 7, 2009.
