Three fall releases have brand new posters. Each brings a unique aesthetic, implementing minimal artwork as a tease for the upcoming films.

If you’ve been aching to see George Clooney, Jesse Eisenberg and an owl in the same place, here is your chance. Each poster prominently focuses on the main character of their respective films.

The American is a film we’ve had our eyes on for a short while now and the promotional campaign has finally begun. A trailer popped up a few weeks ago, presenting the film with an old-school, artistic vision. The new poster does the same. It has that decades-old vintage look that has been missing in the current age of floating head posters.

If anything, the poster for The American is a testament to the style and tone of the movie. Focus Features picked up the independent George Clooney film created by Anton Corbijn. It is based on the Martin Booth novel, A Very Private Gentleman.

The poster for The Social Network actually creates some promise for the film many scoffed at originally. Of course, the poster is pretty minimalist in style, but there is a subliminal humor to what will ultimately tell a compelling story.

Jesse Eisenberg will portray Mark Zuckerberg, the Harvard sophomore who created Facebook in 2004. That website then became somewhat popular with a $16 billion net worth. The film was directed by David Fincher and written by Aaron Sorkin. The story is based off the Ben Mezrich novel, The Accidental Billionaires.

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole has a new poster featuring one of the many owls in the film. Two trailers show a movie that couples animation and Zack Snyder’s slow-motion action scenes. The poster itself has a melancholic tone, but maybe that’s just the puppy-dog face on the owl.

I find it humorous the poster claims, “From the studio that brought you Happy Feet.” Warner Bros. must have realized at some point you simply cannot promote this film as a Zack Snyder work. Families are better off in the dark with Snyder’s brutally bloody tendencies. It will be interesting to see his approach to the family market, in addition to animation.

  1. I really like the social network poster, it’s simplistic, and not what i expected the first poster to look like at all. I thought it would be a mesh of the main players in the film.
