Another New ‘Underworld: Rise Of The Lycans’ Poster

A few weeks back I wrote about a pile of new movie posters and that pile included the first official poster for Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Here we have the second official poster for the prequel of the vampire franchise thanks to UGO.

The first poster featured Bill Nighy who reprises his role as Viktor, a leader of the vampire nation. This new poster features new-to-the-series Rhona Mitra (of Doomsday fame) who plays Sonja, daughter of Viktor of whom the story focuses on.

The poster looks fine to me, although nothing special, it fulfills its purpose. Much like the first poster, we’re again treated to the blue overlay, some medieval stylistic clothing and background, and the infamous light-blue eyes of the vampire protagonist as we’ve come to expect from the series.

Take a look for yourself:

What do you think? Do you dig Rhona Mitra as the new lead femme fatale, or do you miss and prefer Kate Beckinsale’s Selene as the lead vampire?

I don’t know about you, but I’ll be glad to see Lucian back in action with his lycan friends. Don’t forget to check out the trailer if you haven’t yet. That can be found here.

  1. At least it does not look lilke a pair of blue jeans like the previous poster.

  2. Straight. To. Video.

    Agree with greenknight333:
    No Kate, No Ticket.

  3. Although Kate isn’t in this, I’m excited to see a prequel entirely based in the past.

This franchise does a pretty good job of tying things together like how the second one rolled off the first perfectly. Although I didn’t like the second one, I do give it credit.

  4. I’ll be there. I’m a big fan of the genre – vampires and werewolves – in case you couldn’t tell by my sig and link in my name. Will miss Selena and Michael though.

  5. I think removing Kate from the series and doing a prequel will be a huge injustice to the franchise. Regardless to how horrible these movies could have gotten, I still would have seen them if Kate was there. The first two Underworlds secured her in my top 3, and she still remains there. I think this was just a bad excuse to bring all the actors back that they already killed off in the story.
