Happy Friday everyone! For the third Friday of October 2009, we’ve again gathered the latest posters to come out for this week’s poster round-up.
Screen Rant’s wall this week now includes new one-sheets for Toy Story 3, Did You Hear About The Morgans, The Canyon, The Descent: Part 2, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Princess and the Frog, Me and Orson Welles, Law Abiding Citizen, Lost, Daybreakers, Harry Brown, Burning Bright, Sherwood Horror, Saw VI, The House of the Devil, The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, Dear John, Edge of Darkness and The Spy Next Door.
In addition to that we have some photos for Battlestar Galactica: The Plan.
Let’s get to it.
To start, here’s a poster for Toy Story 3 which have been popping up all over these last two weeks. We missed this one in last week’s batch so here it is!

New poster for one of my most favorite TV shows ever, Lost. It’s bittersweet that the upcoming season is the show’s last.

Promo Art for Burning Bright, a horror flick due out next year about a girl who wakes up after a storm to find a vicious tiger in her home, trapped within because they boarded up the windows for the storm. The story follows her trying to save herself and her autistic step-brother, sounds like a fun family flick…

Check out this poster for Sherwood Horror, a modern and very unconventional take on Robin Hood.
Bloody Disgusting’s description is as follows:
Rob Locksley (DJ Perry), an ex-con, returns home after a six year absence to find his town under the rule of vampires. He must join forces with his old roughneck hunting buddies to wage war against the evil Sheriff and his horde of blood-sucking minions.

Two new posters for Saw VI which opens next week.

A while back, we posted a batch of retro posters for The House of the Devil and today there’s a new set.
Here’s one of them, check out Bloody Disgusting for the rest:

New UK one-sheet for Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. It opens there today with a limited release in the U.S. at the end of the year. If it banks well, expect a wide North American release at a later date.

Dear John, starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried.

The first official trailer for Mel Gibson’s bad-ass return to the silver screen debuted earlier this week. That film, titled Edge of Darkness, also came with this new poster:

Cinematical exclusively premiered this poster for Jackie Chan’s The Spy Next Door. I think this movie is gunning for an R-rating:

And last but not least, Collider put up six promo posters for films starring name actors that are attempting to acquire international financing. They’re just thumbnail-sized but if you want to read the synopses and find out more about these, head over to Collider – Matt Goldberg wrote a great piece on this.

For this week’s bonus, Latino Review just put up some stills for Battlestar Galactica: The Plan, here a few of them:

If you missed it, last week’s Poster Friday added the following new posters to Screen Rant’s wall: Toy Story 3, The Lovely Bones, Drive Angry, Ninja, Ong Bak 3, The Missing Person, The Princess and the Frog, The Box and Pirate Radio. In addition to that, we had two bonus images from a cool looking period action film, titled Centurion.
What’s your favorite of this week’s batch of one-sheets? I would have to say that my favorites are the Legion posters. Paul Bettany and Kevin Durand as warrior Angels = Win!
Which posters/images do you like best this week?
Come back next Friday for the latest!

My favorites as far as design are the Legion posters. As to which creates the most excitement, it is far and away the Mr Potato Head. TS 1 and 2 are legendary, and I can’t Wat for 3.
Rob, once again, AWESOME job on putting these poster posts together!
Vic
I’d say the Daybreakers one and the Edge of Darkness ones looked pretty good.
What?? Go back to last week’s poster thread, I said they should have Mr. Potato Head with the 3 in place of a nose or ear or something! They must have stolen my idea! (not that they could have thought of the same thing themselves or anything…
) lol
re: Did You Hear About the Morgans?
Um, does Screenrant cover those types of movies???
re: Legion
Throw them into what?? into what????? The suspense is killing me!! lol, just kidding…
*flips page*
Oh, the furnace of fire… nevermind…
That Lucas Black guy is holding that handgun correctly, I’m shocked! And the chick actually has her finger off the trigger… could it be? They have a REAL firearms guy to show them what to do?? Nah….
re: the canyon
LOL, looks like a b-horror movie, lol
re: The descent 2 jap poster
So… does Descent 2 actually have little children in it or is that just the Japanese trying to make it seem like it does since it seems to me that Japanese people are afraid of children since every one of their horror movies is of “scary” children…
re: Law Abiding Citizen
Interested in the movie, but those posters don’t look that great…
re: Daybreakers
I’m so sick of even seeing adverts for vampire movies, much less actually watching a vampire movie, but this one actually seems somewhat interesting, because it doesn’t seem to romanticize it or make it seem “cool” for the goth kids or anything, they make them… well… normal…
re: Harry Brown
just what we need, another people with accents exchanging witty banter movie…
re: burning bright
Really? They can make an entire movie out of that??
re: Sherwood Horror
LMAO!! That’s awesome…ly stupid!!
re: The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus
I’ll watch it only if we get to see more of her in the movie… lol
re: Dear John
“best-selling author of The Notebook.” Basically, this is a chick flick all of us guys will have our man-cards revoked if we watch it without a chick right?
re: Edge of Darkness
Trailer looks good, gonna keep an eye on this one…
re: The Spy Next Door
Hm, I’m disappointed that Jackie Chan will be doing such a violent adult movie like this…
LOL, ok, but seriously, looks horrible…
I think out of all of those, Toy Story 3 has me most excited, and Edge of Darkness is one I’m eager to see too.
Wasn’t Burning Bright supposed to come out this year? I was really looking forward to that one.
im dig’in the Legion Posters and the DayBrakers one .
love the concept of vamps baing the prominant species.
great post Rob !
well done sir !
Daybreakers looks great!
(Too bad the trailer for Legion doesn’t look as good as the posters)
lol, Ken, you did say that!
btw, This is our chance also showcase upcoming movies that we may not usually write about and certainly posters that wouldn’t get their own post on most sites.
saw 6 coming soon yeah! can’t wait.
did any else notice that HEATH LEDGER si in the immaginarium of dr.pannasus?!
@ noble,
lol yes. He was filming it when he passed away. To finish the film, Colin Farrell, Johnny Depp and Jude Law stepped in to play the character at different parts of the film.
