From Paris With Love is a new action movie produced and co-written by Luc Besson (The Fifth Element) and directed by Pierre Morel, the guy who gave us the Liam Neeson film Taken, and the French free-running flick, District 13. It stars John Travolta as a U.S. agent who is teamed up with a lower ranking younger agent (Jonathan Rhys Myers) to stop a terrorist attack in Paris.
There was already a short trailer released for From Paris With Love last year, but today we have the very cool first teaser poster for it. It seems like one of those ideas that someone should have thought of before (maybe they have, correct me if I’m wrong). Very simple and clean, I like it. Check it out:

Apart from a generic title (did anyone think it was a romantic comedy before you read the plot?), From Paris With Love does look like it could be a lot of fun. I don’t think the trailer (which is shown below) is put together all that well, but the actual footage we can see make the movie look like it could be a lot of fun.

I’m sorry, but that poster is actually quite dumb in my opinion. The proportions are all off. They really should have started the Eiffel Tower portion of the gun higher up on the tower. As in the first level above the base. The gun handle just looks too bulky in comparison. On a second glance it looks like something from Buck Rogers or Flash Gordon. I would actually think, based on that poster alone, that this is a throwback sci-fi movie that takes place in Paris.
I like it.
I’ll watch anything Besson does. Doesn’t mean it’ll be good but it’ll be damn entertaining.
Morel is on a run too.
And call me crazy, but my favorite Travolta movies is where he’s the bad guy. Face/Off, Taking of P. 123, all great and he’s a total badass when he’s a bad guy.
ogd, I’m with you man, anything Besson does I will watch.
La Femme Nikkita, Fifth Element, Léon, Taxi has proven that Besson is a genuis.
Anyone know why Besson doesn’t direct (live action movies) anymore?
And is Taxi really good? That, along with Angel-A, are the only Besson movies I haven’t seen yet.

So who’s going to play James Bond? Oh wait, wrong place of the world, lol. I liked 5th Element and Taken, could be interesting… They should have Liam Neeson as a cameo in this dressed like he was in Taken…

it was actually “district b13″…but anyways i had seen a tad bit longer trailer of this somewhere like 2 or 3 months ago. Either way i’ll probably catch it on dvd…lol on the mo’fo part by travolta.

It has different names in different countries: In the US and Canada it’s District B13, in the UK (which is where I’m from), it’s just District 13.
In France it was called Banlieue 13, or B13. In America/England it was District 13.
A sequel came out Banlieue 13 – Ultimatum…which wasn’t that great from what I heard.

I understand why ppl think so but I LOVED THAT MOVIE.
Been a big fan of David Belle and Cyril. Truly some of the most talented people of our generation at what they do (Belle invented Parkour and Cyril is one of the best stuntmen/choreographers working today). These guys deserve exposure more so than most of the actors we see on screen.
Anyway, for personal reasons, I think everyone should see this movie just to know what real action looks like (none of that hollywood wire fu, stunt double crap)
Anyone else think Travolta looked like Homer Simpson in that trailer?

My bad…?lol. I didn’t know,i saw it in french with no subtitles or anything overseas and it was called district b13 so i thought it was the original name. Either way the movie was alright… could’ve had a bit more… alot more freerunning and action really not to overdue it though like the “sons of the wind”… which was actually cool as well.
