I cant tell you how happy i was when Nov 24th came and went with no REMAKE !! i am 35 and first watched this movie when i was 8 and since then i have watched this movie at leat one a week to THIS day….
dont know what it is about this movie that has me in a total tranze but i LOVE IT !!!!! it does not need remade… if that horrable day does come to pass i can assure you that i will NEVER watch it…. i love the original movie so much i had the DVD cover pic tattoed on my shouler, its AWSESOME

imdb says Poltergeist Remake release date 2013 don`t know if this is correct but i does say it take a look.

Well they will ruin it….it will be turned into a stupid horror fest with blood and people being killed…because they think thats what the audience would want to see…….the original didnt need much of that…i LOVE a really good ghost story and so few of them are ever made…this one is a classic…..because they didnt need the gore to frighten you…lets hope they remember that and dont mess it up….or better yet…why dont they just come up with a NEW ghost movie instead of copying one that dosnt need to be remade??? If they need to remake a movie then remake the 1944 version of The Uninvited …thats a good ghost story that should be brought to life again!

Poltergiest is very similar to what lies beneath, neither are real horror films, but both have a good story, however one ends with a nice well put together twist. Poltergeist has a great bathroom scene letting the stranger knows hes weak and not welcomed. And theres the coffins rising, nothing worse than raiders of the ark scene with marion getting stuck in the tomb of the lost souls
however there are these unfortunate mistakes most of them renditioned from platinum dunes or Micheal Bays company:
The fog, halloween(rob zombie), texas chainsaw, friday 13th, amytville horror

Why is there a need for remakes of awesome films? Is the only reason they’re doing this is because they feel as though they can up the ante on the whole special effects front?

No-one cares. Leave it alone, Hollywood.

it scared the crap out of me when I was a kid! When I watch it now… it still scares the crap out of me.
