One dedicated Minecraft player has begun the journey of combining every single Pokémon region into one big map. There are currently eight regions in Pokémon; nine if one counts Hisui, which is an ancient version of Sinnoh. Each region is unique in terms of terrain, culture, and, of course, the different Pokémon present for the player to catch.

This is far from the first time that Pokémon and Minecraft have come together in-game. There is a mod called Pixelmon, which incorporates parts of Pokémon gameplay into Minecraft. It adds in the Pokémon themselves with mechanics for catching them, breeding them, training them, and of course battling them. Popular among both Minecraft and Pokémon fans, the mod has its own community and has been downloaded over eight million times.

As reported by CBR, TikTok user TheChunkyHippo has set out to create every Pokémon region and chronicled his progress on TikTok. The map, currently titled Pokéearth, will be free to play for everyone, but players will first have to install the Pixelmon mod. Since it's such a huge task, TheChunkyHippo has also brought on a team of builders to help him make it. The project started at the iconic Pokémon city Pallet Town, and the team has since worked its way through Viridian, Pewter, and Cerulean City along with connecting landmarks such as Mt. Moon and Bill's House. Each location is built to scale to the best of the team's ability. They have been prioritizing the outside look of all the buildings over the inside, as in the Pokémon games the scale of the buildings from the outside does not match the inside environments.

Building The World Of Pokémon In Minecraft

This fusion of Minecraft and Pokémon is an incredibly ambitious project. However, with TheChunkyHippo posting and streaming the team's progress on both TikTok and Twitch, it's clear to see that they're not slowing down. The accuracy and attention to detail that each region has been given are impressive and only build anticipation to see the project completed. A comprehensive and immersive recreation of the entire Pokémon world is likely something that fans of the iconic RPG franchise would be interested in supporting.

With TheChunkyHippo and his team making steady progress on Pokéearth, one can only imagine what the project will look like once it's finished. At the time of this writing, the team is still working on the Kanto region and will have many more to go once that is done. Until then, Minecraft and Pokémon fans can keep tabs on Pokéearth's progress through Twitch and TikTok.
