Helioptile and Heliolisk have officially made their Pokémon GO debut as part of the Power Plant event. Trainers looking to find and capture this Electric-type Pokémon will want to do so as quickly as possible. The Pokémon GO Power Plant event focuses on Electric-type Pokémon. Both Helioptile and Heliolisk originate from Pokémon X and Y, the sixth generation titles in the series. In the main series, Helioptile evolves into Heliolisk when trainers give a Helioptile a Sun Stone. While this evolutionary method is still referenced in Pokémon GO, there is an additional challenge to complete before Helioptile can evolve.

The Pokémon GO Power Plant event takes place from Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Players will team up with Gym Leader Spark to unlock the final piece of the Mysterious Door. This plot thread has been consistent in Pokémon GO's Season of Heritage event. As of Wednesday, both Helioptile and Heliolisk have been added to Pokémon GO, but their Shiny forms are not yet available. It's likely these will be added at a later date.

During the Pokémon GO Power Plant event, Helioptile will begin to appear in the wild. Fortunately, finding one shouldn't be too difficult as long as the event is still running. When the event ends on February 1, Helioptile's spawn rate will decrease dramatically, making this event the best chance to get one. Once the event is over, it will still be possible to find Helioptile in the wild, but it will be much more challenging. To evolve Helioptile into Heliolisk, players will need to give it 50 Helioptile candy and a Sun Stone.

Finding Candy and Sun Stones in Pokémon GO

Pokemon Go Heliolisk

The best way to earn more candy in Pokémon GO is by using Pinap Berries. This item will double the number of candies awarded at the end of a successful capture, bringing the total from three to six. Trainers can also set Helioptile as their buddy. After walking a few kilometers, the Pokémon will pick up candy. Lastly, Rare Candy earned from completing Raid Battles works well for leveling up.

The Sun Stone will be a bit more difficult to find. It's a special evolutionary item that evolves Pokémon like Gloom into Bellossom or Sunkern into Sunflora. Sun Stones can be obtained from spinning Pokémon GO Pokéstops or Gyms. However, the chances of finding a Sun Stone are incredibly slim, at only a 1% chance. Players should continue to swipe at stops until a Sun Stone appears. Then, they can combine the Sun Stone with the candy to complete the Helioptile evolutionary line and get Heliolisk on their team.
