The 5th anniversary of Pokemon Go comes along with its own Collection Challenge for players to complete. This guide will show players how they can capture every Pokemon available in this Collection Challenge. Pokemon Go released back in the Summer of 2016 and took the world by storm. Players from all over the globe would take to the streets in an attempt to capture all 151 Pokemon that were available at the time. As the years have gone by, Niantic has introduced new Pokemon, raid battles, trading, battling, and global events for players to participate in. One of the biggest new features to come to the game in 2021 is the Collection Challenges. These challenges will require players to capture a specific set of Pokemon within a limited time. Upon completing this challenge, players will be rewarded with in-game items and a special medal to act as a trophy. The 5th anniversary has its own Collection Challenge and this guide will show players how they can complete it.

This Collection Challenge will run from July 6th to July 15th. During this time, players will be tasked with capturing every starter Pokemon that is available in the game and an event exclusive Balloon Pikachu. Players are able to encounter all of these Pokemon out in the wild but there is a way to make this challenge a bit easier. Field Research tasks will provide players with the chance to narrow down the odds to find 1 out of the 3 Pokemon the player is missing. For this Collection Challenge, players will need to find 19 Pokemon. Here is how players can encounter them all.

  • Bulbasaur: In the wild or completing the "Catch 5 Pokemon" Field Research Task.
  • Charmander: In the wild or completing the "Catch 5 Pokemon" Field Research Task.
  • Squirtle: In the wild or completing the "Catch 5 Pokemon" Field Research Task.
  • Chikorita: In the wild or completing the "Use 5 Berries to help catch Pokemon" Field Research Task.
  • Totodile: In the wild or completing the "Use 5 Berries to help catch Pokemon" Field Research Task.
  • Cyndaquil: In the wild or completing the "Use 5 Berries to help catch Pokemon" Field Research Task.
  • Treecko: In the wild or completing the "Take 5 snapshots of wild Pokemon" Field Research Task.
  • Torchic: In the wild or completing the "Take 5 snapshots of wild Pokemon" Field Research Task.
  • Mudkip: In the wild or completing the "Take 5 snapshots of wild Pokemon" Field Research Task.
  • Turtwig: In the wild or completing the "Make 5 Great Throws" Field Research Task.
  • Chimchar: In the wild or completing the "Make 5 Great Throws" Field Research Task.
  • Piplup: In the wild or completing the "Make 5 Great Throws" Field Research Task.
  • Snivy: In the wild or completing the "Send 5 Gifts to friends" Field Research Task.
  • Tepig: In the wild or completing the "Send 5 Gifts to friends" Field Research Task.
  • Oshawatt: In the wild or completing the "Send 5 Gifts to friends" Field Research Task.
  • Chespin: In the wild or completing the "Spin 5 PokeStops or Gyms" Field Research Task.
  • Fennekin: In the wild or completing the "Spin 5 PokeStops or Gyms" Field Research Task.
  • Froakie: In the wild or completing the "Spin 5 PokeStops or Gyms" Field Research Task.
  • Balloon Pikachu: In the wild or defeating it in a 1-star raid battle.

Players will want to complete this as soon as possible. The Field Research Tasks can be found randomly from spinning PokeStops. The deadline is approaching so make sure to stay on top of it.
