The Pokémon GO! 2020 December Community Day dates have been revealed, and it gives trainers a chance to catch every previously featured monster. There will also be increased odds of encountering shiny Pokémon, and a rotating cast of raid bosses for trainers to challenge.

December has been a busy month for Pokémon GO!, starting with the addition of the legendary Pokémon Kyurem to raids. This month also saw an increase for the max level cap and an overhaul of the GO Battle League. With next year being the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, all outlets are firing on all cylinders leading into the next calendar year, when The Pokémon Company has even more unannounced plans up its sleeve.

Niantic and The Pokémon Company have published a comprehensive list of the different Pokémon that will be available more frequently on the official Pokémon Go Live website, both in the wild and in raids.

"Throughout the event, Pokémon featured in Community Day events throughout 2019 and 2020 will be appearing more frequently in the wild and in raids, so this event will be a great time for you to catch Pokémon featured in any Community Day events you may have missed! For a limited time each day, you’ll be more likely to encounter certain Shiny Pokémon, you’ll benefit from bonuses, and different Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in Mega Raids!"

The post also lays out which pokémon will be more available and under which conditions, stating,

"Pokemon appearing more frequently in the wild: Charmander, Weedle, Abra, Gastly, Rhyhorn, Electabuzz, Magmar, Magikarp, Porygon, Seedot, and Piplup.

Pokemon appearing in raids: Totodile, Swinub, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Ralts, Slakoth, Trapinch, Bagon, Turtwig, and Chimchar.

Pokemon hatching from 2 km Eggs: Totodile, Swinub, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Ralts, Slakoth, Trapinch, Bagon, Turtwig, and Chimchar."

Trainers can evolve certain Pokémon from previous Community Day events to get exclusive moves that were only previously available during their respective events. The list is quite lengthy but some notable standouts include, "Evolve Charmeleon to get a Charizard that knows Dragon Breath," "Evolve Magikarp to get a Gyarados that knows Aqua Tail," "Evolve Croconaw to get a Feraligatr that knows Hydro Cannon," and, "Evolve Grovyle to get a Sceptile that knows Frenzy Plant." Lastly, there will also be Event-Exclusive Timed Research challenges that that reward trainers with an Elite Charged TM (and other awards), as well as a Community Day-Exclusive Special Research Story which will be available for $1 USD.

December's Pokémon GO! Community Day will also span two days instead of one to give trainers ample time to catch their favorite creatures, as well as complete those above-mentioned exclusive research events. Between the wide selection of different raids and wild spawns, is safe to say that this Community Day on December 12 is sure to end 2020 with a bang. Clearly, Pokémon GO is playing a big part in the lead up to The Pokémon Company's secret 25th-anniversary plans.
