Perfect Match fans on Reddit are tired of star Mitchell Eason's claims that he's a virgin when he's spoken candidly about his past sexual history. Perfect Match, which combines stars from several of Netflix's most popular shows and allows them to find long-lasting love, brought Mitchell into the show late. Mitchell was originally from The Circle season 2, where he nearly made it to the end and eventually began a relationship with the season's runner-up, Chloe Veitch.
While Perfect Match season 1 was meant for contestants to come together and find true love, The Circle's Mitchell had other plans for his time in the house. Though he had a past relationship with Too Hot To Handle's Chole and wanted to explore a future with her, his time on the show was short-lived, and fans are certain they know why. Mitchell's insistence on the topic of his virginity was explored heavily during his time on the show, and his antics quickly became tiresome.
Perfect Match Fans Don't Agree With Mitchell's Definition of 'Virgin'
Mitchell is open about his sexuality and often speaks about it on social media, but it was surprising to see how heavily it factored into Perfect Match. Though Mitchell from The Circle was honest about his own beliefs, fans were still unhappy with his definition of "virgin" and the preaching nature he took about it. Reddit user u/Astrophat said, "It's some gross, patriarchal and heteronormative bullshit that Mitchell classifies himself as a "virgin" when he's had...oral sex."
Another commenter agreed, writing, "Nah he completely reads as transparent. I’m even thinking that he uses the “virgin” card to manipulate others to “throw” themselves at him." Perfect Match star Mitchell was continually dragged by certain Reddit users, with one person concluding that Mitchell has "A weird religious mix inbetween [sic] with Bs purity culture but then men doing whatever they want anyway cuz they’re not a woman." Overall, many the Perfect Match fans don't agree with Mitchell's definition of "virgin."
Mitchell's Rough Takes On Virginity Have Put Fans Off
While fans would traditionally respect Mitchell's virginity and his choice to remain a virgin, it's believed that Mitchell's virginity is unfounded as he has participated in different types of sex. The Perfect Match star speaks openly about his experiences but still maintains that he is a virgin and uses it as a way to get what he wants without committing to a relationship. Though Chloe ultimately chose Shayne Jansen over Mitchell, the fact that he seemed manipulative about his virginity in the first place was off-putting for those who were looking forward to seeing him on Perfect Match.
Even though the first season of Perfect Match has come to a close, another installment of the show may be in the future of Netflix's reality TV roster. Though Mitchell was an interesting addition to The Circle and seems to be liked by his castmates, many have noted they will not watch future projects Mitchell is in due to his beliefs and the way he presents them. As Netflix pursues future projects, it will be interesting to see if they continue working with Mitchell.
