Wow! I thought I was the only one rummaging through my kids' books. Sometimes simplistic is a nice break from adult novels.

In the fourth grade, my son won a writing contest and was awarded the opportunity to meet with Rick Riordan, the author of “Lightning Thief”. Now he's in 7th grade and we've both read (and re-read) what became a series of four novels. I couldn't believe it when I saw the commercial for the first time. My entire family is psyched about going to see it tonight!
From what I've seen so far, the movie seems very similar to what I've imagined. Can't wait!

I read the books with my daughter. I have been going back and picking up a lot of children’s books to keep pace with the kids. These were very nice (simplistic at times) but on the whole well written for the age group they are aiming to hit. The trailer from the movie is enough to make me know that I will go see it. Sometimes we just need to be entertained and this appears to be one of those movies.

I saw a giant display for this in the theatre, except no “Percy Jackson” in the title. I’d never heard of the books or this movie. I had hoped a trailer would show. After seeing this, I still have no clue as to what a lightning thief is.

I’ll see it! Let’s hope this actor has 3 younger brothers who can act, so he won’t be still doing sequels in his 30′s.

Looks good. I’m not usually a fan of teens becoming heroes. I think that works better in books than movies but I’ll probably give it a look.
