John Cena appears on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in a highly entertaining segment in which he loses his Peacemaker helmet. Peacemaker is the first television series of the DC Extended Universe and will arrive on HBO Max on Thursday, January 13, with the first three episodes being available straight away. The series is a spin-off of 2021's The Suicide Squadwhich was a successful James Gunn reboot of the infamous 2016 version, Suicide Squad, a film that received a great deal of criticism. The DCEU show will also be directed by Gunn, who recently stated that he already wants to make a second season.

Cena's Peacemaker was a fan-favorite in his first appearance in The Suicide Squad. Peacemaker went head-to-head with Idris Elba's Bloodsport, where the two constantly tried to one-up each other, providing many comedic moments throughout the film, which eventually became popular memes online. However, Bloodsport eventually got the better of Peacemaker, sending his rival to the hospital. The series will pick up from the film's post-credits scene, where Peacemaker will team up with superhero Vigilante (Freddie Stroma) and Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks). Peacemaker will also star Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick, and Chukwudi Iwuji.

Cena appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to face off against the host in a segment called "Make It Last." Peacemaker's arrogant but humorous personality from The Suicide Squad is displayed in the video, with the superhero extremely confident that Fallon would eventually lose his own game. The pair face off in five different challenges, with both players constantly taunting each other, mirroring Peacemaker and Bloodsport's dynamic in the film. Cena also promises Fallon his Peacemaker helmet if he's able to win the challenge. Check out the video below:

Gunn's Peacemaker has already received its first set of reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and currently sits third out of all the DC TV shows. The yet-to-be-released series scored an excellent 90%, beating the CW shows like The Flash, but losing out to Stargirl and Doom Patrol. From the reviews, the show has a lot of potential, with Gunn bringing in the style of humor that he brought in The Suicide Squad, as well as Marvel's The Guardians of the GalaxyDespite both being directed by Gunn and having his incredibly entertaining style, there is a stark contrast between the violence, with Gunn's DC film fleshing out extreme brutality compared to the family-friendly style Marvel prefers to use.

DC fans are being spoiled this year with many of the current shows releasing their new seasons throughout the course of 2022. The shows include the likes of The Flash, Titans, Doom Patrol, Pennyworth, and much more. Despite Peacemaker being the only show of the DC Extended Universe, the franchise will be releasing new movies in 2022, with the likes of Black Adam and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom coming out this year. It is an exciting time to be a DC fan, especially with Peacemaker already making a good impression.
