SPOILER ALERT FOR “PARANORMAL ACTIVITY” & THE SEQUEL,
“PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2″

I saw the original ending, where Katie stabs Micah off camera, and comes upstairs, and sits on the floor on her side of the bed through sunrise and into the evening. Watching her sit there was as disturbing as all hell.

However, the ending to Paranormal Activity 2 makes no sense, if you only saw the “Katie stabs Micah” ending.

wow i saw this movie and i thought it was SCARY but i like the oringal ending becuz when i saw her get shot bye the cops it was like OMG Y?

the basic story in the ending is

katie screamed down stairs micah came to help she grabbed a boocher knife stabbed him got blood everywhere came back up with the knife sat next to her bed rocking day after day then cops came the demon inside her left b4 she saw the cops and stood up i think the cops saw the knife thought she was coming after then but u can hear her say wheres micah in a soft scared voice then cops shot her very dissapointing i was hoping they both stayed alive but micah pissed the demon off so nice going micah

“WARNING!! SPOILERS!!”I saw a screening version of the original movie and the one I saw in the theatre was a totally different and much better(IMHO)ending!The dvd version I saw must have been the original before paramount edited it and added the new ending,which is a lot scarier and more in line with what the whole film is going for, the dvd shows katie coming into the bedroom after she kills Mica(which you never see but surmise thru the audio)and she is on the floor rocking for like a day or so and you hear her gf come in and find the body of Mica and runs out and then the police come and go upstairs and see Katie and she is still holding the knife and goes toward the police while saying”Mica?…Mica?” They order her to drop it and she does’nt and boom,they shoot her and thats basically it.

I saw the paramount version, in theaters with my girlfriend, ironicly enough on Oct 11th, which was the last night of filming in that version. A friend of mine gave me copy that he had, and while watching it with a group of friends that hadn’t seen it, I noticed subtle differences. Then on Oct 8th in his version, “The Katie Ending” happens. Totally thew me off, I didn’t know there was another ending. I liked the idea of the alternate ending, but agree with the author, the remade theatre version sells the scary side of the movie. Glad I saw them in the order I did, and now I’m curious to see the “Katie’s whereabouts are unknown” version again. I’m sure when this goes to DVD both endings will be present. Until then, enjoy the good jolt of the current ending, cause the “Katie gets shot” ending is anticlimatic.

ive seen both endings and really none are good endings….a better ending would have been the original with the cops shooting something in the back room and katie then getting up after being shot and turing off the camera

While I agree that this original ending is anti-climactic, I do think it fits the overall film much better than the theatrical ending.
